If we take anything from all these posts, we need to take the recommended supplements to help with issues. My son is fortunate, so far, that he has no ill-effects from his 5 month treatment of 90mg a day.

I stopped taking accutane before my doctor advised me to, because the pain was so bad. I haven't taken accutane for 3 years, and I still have the pain in my lower back. I cannot prove my pain is derived from the accutane, but it is a very similar feeling.

My son was on Isotretinoin for 5 wks 20mg & 5mg alternately. he didnt really want to take this as he dislikes medication. He started with shoulder pain but we thought it was due to training whilst at college studying to be a powerlifter. I told him to stop the medication. The pains moved from one place to the next. Knees, ankles, elbows and even his fingers. He was a healthy 16yr old. Always walked to school and back every day (2.5 miles both ways) and went out with friends. Now he sits at home in pain which he also gets in his chest. All blood tests are normal. Doctors have said that the effect from this medication should no longer be in his system. But the effects are there and have been for the past 6 months.
I have read on here that taking Vitamin D may help, so i will get some for him to take and see how he goes.

I hear your pain....
I have a 19 yr old son that is going through the same as you. He is impotent and we are in the process of going to our second urologist. He was on this horrible drug for quite a long time.
I didn't know...I trusted the doctor. One night I couldn't sleep because I was worried about my son. I did a search on "accutane and impotent". There was my answer. We were never told about this.
The more I look in to this the more young men I hear about.
All I can say....is I'm gonna sue the asses off of someone.
I don't know if this drug is still perscribed. But it needs to be off the market. There are more young men that this has happened to but it's such a sensitive subject.
Please let me know how you are doing and have you found anything to help.
God Bless,
A Concerned Mom
I wish healing to your son and everyone who took this (including me) to treat a debilitating skin condition. We trust the medication the doctors give us but the long term effects are unbearable for some of us. I believe Accutane is still on the market and still not curing acne permanently for many. I began getting acne again about 5 years later and I'm now in my early 40's, so I have the perm side effects AND breakouts, not cute. Again, I believe in the power of the mind and healing and will do all I can to self heal until we find more answers. Also, again wishing your son healing and health and peace of mind for you.

Joint pain if taken less heed of may cause a lot of problem. It is best that you have it consulted with a doctor to avoid any complications. http://www.depuypinnaclelawsuit.com/

I am very concerned that Accutane is still on the market and being prescribed by derms with great confidence. The only side effects that I was informed of were dry skin, possible mild joint pain and elevated triglycerides. After two months of 40 mg/day and 1 month of 60 (I weigh 160lb), my skin looks worse than it ever has. Not only is my acne increased, but now I have sores erupting all over my body, particularly my scalp, where my hair is continually falling out. I am a very athletic person and also prone to depression.. I now have debilitating joint pain and had to increase my depression medication. I imagined that I could bear all of these symptoms for a potentially acne free life after five months, however I began to realize that if the acne clearing results are permanent, why wouldn't the side effects be too? I stopped the treatment immediately and found this blog. I believe that if we all found a way to come together, we would be able to bring the truth to light and prevent these horrors from happening to anyone else, especially teenagers who have the rest of their lives ahead of them. I am greatly discouraged by the pharmaceutical industry.
On another note, I am a science journalist and a training biochemist, I am acquiring the tools to tackle this issue on many fronts. If anyone is interested in contacting me with their stories to compile information, please respond to this blog.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Libra

Someone is convinced they're in the right under the Lunar Eclipse, and they don't care how they get their point across. If there's trouble in your neighborhood, get it sorted out by putting your thoughts down in a blog, or on paper. Don't let anyone, even siblings, treat you like this, even if you balk at standing your ground under this moody cloud. Travel plans may be upset, and spiritual pursuits, and dealings with foreigners or people of other cultures is subject to pressure too.
