hair loss

Once my hair started falling out, I started to take fenugreek tablets and I think that helped stop the hair loss. But then I doubled my dose of accutane and noticed my hair thinning again. So now I have doubled my dose of fenugreek aswell! Will see how it goes.

It has been an good to be able to read about other peoples experience regarding accutaine. I am in my 5th week now. I have noticed significant hair loss and its really getting me down! My skin looks so much worse as well. I hope this pays off!:(

Your skin will probably get worse before it starts to improve. Hang in there!

Hi everyone. I was on Acutane 40 mg a day for 6 months. I stopped 2 months ago and last month my hair started to fall out. Im loosing a good amount everyday. I have beautiful long (all the way down my lower back) black hair, its pretty tick which is good but yea i am loosing hair. I checked everything to make sure there isn't another issue going on but my doc said im fine. So for all of you who are going thru it remember you are not alone and that hair will grow back out, we should be thankful that all that ugly acne is gone :))))) Lets be patient , it will eventually stop falling out.

You are fine ...dont worry it gets worse before it gets better takes about 3 months to 4 months to see changes. With acutane you have to be patient it takes time, people think it will clear up in a month but it doesnt. It is a strong drug and one of the affects is hair loss. You can always get extensions or go short for a while. Its all worth it :) I just got off of it and even thought my hair is falling out i dont regret any of it , my skin is soooo clear. I had very bad cystic acne:( Make sure you dont die your hair or use any products use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and dont worry to much :)HUGZ

All these posts have been submitted years ago. I, however, am currently experiencing the post- accutane hair thinning. I took it for 8 months, every other day. During the end of the treatment i noticed tons of hairs falling out. It is now 5 months later and I am still experiencing the hair thinning along with a dry scalp/ dandruff. I had healthy hair before, super thick, and long. I have no medical history and experienced the usual side effects while on accutane - not hair loss until the last month. I was wondering since it has been years later for you guys if and how long it took for your hair to improve?

I know what u r feeling. I have been on accutane 3 times and have had hair thinning which has lasted. My acne has returned again and i'm weighing up what affects me more a face of acne or thinning hair as my doctor has prescribed my 4th accutane course!

Suffered my hair loss only after finishing accutaine have long hair and have lost 30 percenat of my hair 2 years down the line still alot of shedding but no patches had blood test hormones checked and thay all normal. Taking kelp at moment and fingers crossed maybe new hair.

Spironolactone was the fist thing I tried for acne and I grew back more hair than ive ever had in my life! I was on it for 6 months and when I got off of it, had tremendous amounts of hair shed. My hair grew back a year later though and then I went on accutane. Now, I have no hair.

How is your hairloss today Paula? Any better? Im 1.5 months post accutane and im averaging 150 hairs a day which is alot as my hair is already super thin.
