I have been on accutane for 10 weeks now face still looking really bad. Getting really discouraged right now-thought I would have seen some improvement by now. Took amnnesteem first 2 months this month pharmacy gave me claravis- they claim same exact drug, I really don't know!

I'm starting with 10mg 3 days a week on Monday (today is Friday). However, I am a competitive cyclist and spend a lot of time cycling and doing gym work. I have read that I should try and avoid vigorous exercise. Is that true?

"My is currently wayyyy worse than it ever was !! I have complete faith it is going to improve, reading through the comments on this page show many people have went through the same. My dermatologist said that everyone he has every treated has been cured of acne ... seriously have patience and it will be rewarded Im sure of it :D"
haha the same thing my derm told !!! but ive never got this type of acne i was a very mild case and how long have yu been taking it?
Me also, I wasnt even sure if I was bad enough to get the medicine, like i have had acne since i was 13 and Im 21 now but sometimes it clears up to basically nothing and usually is just the odd breakout on my chin or forehead. It has only been very bad once before. And now i have huge breakouts and they are really angry looking, i was at my dermo today and he said it is common for skin to breakout up to and sometimes beyond 8 weeks. I have been on the medicine now for 6 weeks, 60mg a day. How long have you been on it ?

Yep, worse before better. As your skin starts peeling, buried lesions come to the top. It took me nearly two months to start showing improvement, but it was worth it in the end.

Slather your face with pure aloe vera gel to reduce the dryness, stay out of the sun, and reduce the dose if the peeling gets too annoying.

By the way, shyshy, yes, it is possible it will clear up, then come back. But it probably will not. My girlfriend had one treatment and it cleared her up for life. And I mean life -- we were in college then and we're in our 50s now.

I had one treatment and it came back, and I did a second treatment, and it came back again, and now I'm on a low maintenance dose.(Yep, 52 and I still have to take accutane. Life's a bitch, sometimes) But it's too soon for you to worry about it. Just think about how good you're going to look in another two months. It probably won't come back and if it does, well, remember that some of Hollywood's hottest stars are on low dose accutane.

I am almost done with my second month of Accutane, two 30mg pills twice a day. It has cleared my skin up very well, scars and reduction of pimple size started around week 3-4. Now, coming closer to the third month, I have been noticing a few new pimples here and there. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

Ive been on accutane for 12 days now, and have noticed that I do not break out as much anymore. My acne has gone down and is not as red, but if you look at it, it is still there. I have also realized how tired I am... I am on holiday now and sleep around 12-13 hours per day, when i used to sleep 10-11. It is really frustrating because I don't have any energy to play sports anymore.. I have also been experiencing lower back pain and joint pain, especially in my knees... is that normal??
I went out into the sun a couple days ago, and the next day i broke out quite alot.. is it becuase of the sun??
I have not noticed any depression yet, but if people were to develope it, how far along the treatment are they and what percentage of takers actually develope depression?
I really hope this accutance stuff works becuase I can't wait to have good skin again.

I've been taken accutane for a month now,10mg/day. It works like magic, even my hubby couldn't believe it. I feel so much relieved because i've had small acne like whiteheads all over my forehead and blackheads on my nose and chin for 17years!! And now for the first time i have a smooth and clear skin :) i hope i don't have to experience the purging phase, cross my finger. I live in indonesia where accutane is not easy to get, not all dermatologist what it is, so it's such a miracle that i found my doc. My doc said that i need to take accutane for around 8months, and he also gave me moisturizer so my skin doesn't dry out. My pores are still visible, does anyone know if accutane can make them smaller?

I started takin this junk about a week and a half ago. After reading most of the posts about the initial breakout and side effects and whatnot, I'm a little more relieved about taking it. The breakout is mostly on my left side around my mouth. Probably because I usually work on the computer and lean my face on my left hand, thus the extra oiliness and intensified breakout. But anyway, I'm glad I came across this and read that what I'm going through is quite common for this drug. Hope it will clear up soon though. Thanks chaps!

i am 13 and i had moderate inflammatory acne, and tried all of the over the counter stuff, even prescribe creams. nothing seemed to work. so, i decided to give accutane a try. a few members of my family have used it and it worked for them, and that gave me some confidence. i am on my 4th day, and my acne is already just about completely gone. i don't know if this is the accutane, but either way something went right. i did not get worse, however my leg muscles are feeling a bit tired or drowsy i guess you could say, is this normal? also, my skin has started to dry and my lips are chapped.

Been on isotretinoin 40mg a day for just over a month, didn't really suffer from the 'initial breakout' except 2 'multi-head' cysts, 1 on each cheek. I Suffer with mild-severe acne and it's absolutely horrible, no self confidence at all. The drug has cleared my face of black heads and reduced the redness of the spots slightly. Peeling on my hands and dry lips & eyes have been the only side effects so far. I'm only 16 and can't wait to spending the best years of my life with clear skin! Roll on 6 months time

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Sagittarius

Relationships have been going through through testing times since the Solar Eclipse at last month's New Moon in Gemini on May 20. Events may force you to reevaluate the state of a partnership. You may even decide that you need to make some major adjustments if things are to carry on as you would like. During the coming fortnight leading up to the rare second New Moon in Gemini, this may feel like a crisis, but that doesn't mean you should abandon all hope or throw out the baby with the bathwater.
