This is for anyone seriously considering Oral Isotretinoin

I am Male 22 years old
College student

Acne - Moderate all through teens
Acne - Moderate - severe early 20's

Oral antibiotics - I tried all of the cycline's and erythromyacin and they all had minimal results. Sulfa worked the best but did not do anything for cyctic acne (gave me a nice kidney stone!)

Topicals - all antibiotic and benzol topicals had minimal results
Differen had medium results
Retin-A Best results of topicals, still didnt eliminate cystic acne at all

Felt very hopeless and depressed for my life and future.

I researched accutane and became terrified that I would have to take it or suffer w/ this burden for years more.

I decided to take a 5 Mo course

1st two months were 40 mgs once a day
last 3 months were 80 mgs a day

2 first months, no side effects (besides bloody noses and chapped lips)

last three months were ok. But i got sick with pneumonia for a very long time. I feel that it was because Accutane compromised my immune system

It took a few months after accutane to ensure me that my acne was completely gone. I had break outs that continued after the course.

My acne has been almost completely gone a year after the end of my course. I still do get pimples. But NOTHING like before the accutane course.

Accutane is a very very wonderful drug
I feel like in a way it saved my life.
If it were not for the decision I made to take accutane, I would still probably be in the same situation i was 1.5 years. ago.

If anyone is scared or unsure about taking accutane, I'd like to help out by answering questions.
Please email me, Tjjernberg@eiu.edu if you are on accutane or thinking about taking accutane and have a question that noone else can answer. Please don't send spam or put me on anyone else's mailing list

Daily Horoscope for February 12

Capricorn

With the friendly Moon in your eleventh house of associates tonight, you might be persuaded to go out and have some fun. After all, even the super responsible Capricorn has to have fun sometimes. You may find that amusements cost more than you would like to pay, so set a limit on what you will allow yourself to spend. Don't let anyone talk you into doing anything you are uncomfortable with.
