Despite news reports that thousands of lawsuits have been settled over the diabetes drug Avandia, both plaintiffs' counsel and the drug maker GlaxoSmithKline deny this.

If they didnot settle where did all the reports come in that they had settled for 60million in one set of case and 7omillion in another set of cases come from. I have a case that was suppose to start in june but now I'm told October??? Why in hades are these people so slow??? I had my heart attack in 2005 while on avandia. Causing me to have a major heart attack having to have a quadruple bypass, a pacemaker-- Defibulator that has a bad lead. I was 53 years old still in prime earning years and making 3times my disability amount that really amount to barely living. I cant work because during the by-pass they had to move the diapharm over my lung and placing back wrong so now its paralayzed and if i move certain ways it cuts off my brath and makes me feel if i have run 5 miles.plus if the defibulator was to go off it could send a high charge into my heart and kill me or if I need to have it shock me and it didnt go off could kill me.which I wouldnot have needed if I hadnt had the heart attack. This drug Avandia is a killer and has ruint my life Its killed my fianances with all the drug costs and medical costs that my insurance didnt cover. I cant afford to buy a new truck as mine is a ninety five with a bad transmission now.Its been a good truck but I have no money just paying a house payment that has gone up because I had to refiance several times to get money to pay bills that were left after my insurance paid all they would pay.My house payment is almost the same as my houe payment now.

Also My fiances are in terrible shape and my credit has been ruint. These guys owe me alot I feel more than the $53,thousand reported in one settlement. I feel they owe me up in the hundreds of thousands for loss of pay and my personnel hardship I have endured and the agony of what my wife and I have endured. I havent been able to take a vacation for the last 5 years because of me being so weak and not having any money to get away from these four walls. Walls that have gotten smaller as each day goes by. iTS BAD ENOUGH WE LIVE IN A TWO BEDROOM one bath two smal matchbox closet, with a wallby dinning room and a very small kitchen,no room to put in thing in feels like dog house. I was hoping to have made enough money to buy a bigger home. but now that looks like a pipe dream. I wish I could meet those guys that put this stuff on the market I would Make them more than sorry. I would let them go through what I go through to try and make ends meet. I wont except the pennys they gave susposedly to the cases they so called settled. It would be a slap in the face and I dont take that litely. These people better come up enough for my qwife and Ifor the rest of my Life.

Judged: 1 1 I'm a journalist working on a film about Avandia. We're looking for patients who have been affected by this drug. Would you be prepared to tell me about your experiences? If you contact me on melanienewman@tbij.com I'll tell you more about the film. Best wishes Melanie |

I am a person near Washington dc that has been severly affected by avandia. It has destroyed my life . I had a heart attach in 2006. My business destroyed. mostly bedridden
I am a single female that has to take care of myelf. I may be loosing my home as I cannot work. I had a heart attach and my life has been very bad since. I am having to take care of myself. I am a real estate broker and do not have strength to move around the house. The settlement I am told by the attorneys take out 40% is not much less and then all the outside expenses not paid by insurance to doctors and for supplies. I believe these companies should be stripped of all their money, as they have made beaucoup money on destroying peoples life. I am in washington, dc and would be eager to give any information about the FDA that approved these drugs that hire the FDA employees part time while they are approving the drugs. Worse than be biased they are gettings funds from the drug companies while they are approving drugs that are killing america. H. Stone |

NY Times says: "GlaxoSmithKline, the British drug giant, has agreed to pay $750 million to settle criminal and civil complaints...
GlaxoSmithKline has reached settlements in over 10,000 cases, agreeing to pay over $460 million to settle Avandia lawsuit claims. GlaxoSmithKline currently faces about 13,000 additional Avandia lawsuit claims filed by former users of the drug..." I know our firm is about to enter into settlement talks with glaxo - we're at 1800 plaintiffs and counting. Info @ http://avandia.lawsuitinformation.org CHEEERS! |

I can recommend a reputable online pharmacy http://allbestpills.info
I figured it would be enough to give the pills a try and I was quite satisfied with the result. I hope this info will be of any help to the community. I have been taking 4mg Avandia from this site once in morning for last 8 or 9 years without any problems. Weight is staying stable within 5 lbs /- for the last 8 or 9 years. |

my husband was diagonosed with type 2 diabetes and given avandia for 5 years. in the last 2 years he has had 6 heart surgeries. he needs to retire but we can't afford for him too. His health is worse everyday. Now on top of that the cath they used in his surgery has damaged his artery in his leg. NOW HE HAS TO HAVE SURGURY IN HIS LEG TO RESTORE BLOOD FLOW.His health is deterioting fast.
How long do these drug companies get to settle these law suits. It's been 3 years and counting..We would like to get this money so he can enjoy what little time he has left. Our attorny assures us we will be next....but we are still waiting...What is true about the settlement? |

My father died in 2007 due to the drug Avandia. He had type 2 diabetes.
Whatever the settlement may be, it will not give him back to us. I was told recently (about 2 weeks ago) that the deadline is here and that there will be payment in the next 60-90 days! This is for the class action. I was told that a letter will come with an amount that we can accept or reject. Does anyone know what happens if you reject? If so, please post. I will pray for all. So very sad. |

I started taking Avandia in 2000. At 42 I had a full AMI-100% Blockage of the RCA,(Heart Attack) which left me with heart damage. Since then I have had 11 angioplasties and both the RCA & LCA are nothing but stints. I have tried to get a loan from my settlement and the loan company is willing; but my attorney's are draging thier feet sending the paperwork back to the loan company. I have heard from my own attornys lip's that some case's have settled for $48,000 or below. We suffered the damage to our hearts and now are loved onesare have to share in that pain and suffering as well. GSK had better pray that this settles soon or a MOB mentality maybe that is what will conince the investors to push GSK into settling.
