Is West Virginia behind the times in approving marijuana use for medical purposes? Many feel that marijuana should be legal for any purpose. What are your thoughts?

I think it should be legal! I work two jobs, I pay my taxes and I am a responsible, upstanding citizen. And every once in awhile I like to smoke, I dont go nuts on it, I dont get out and drive and kill people and I dont cheat, lie or steal to get it, so whats the problem if I want to set in the privacy of my home and partake of the herb???

Yes, with a doctor's prescription for medical purposes. I don't see any harm in this.

me too. I know a few people who smoke rather than take man made pills to calm themselves down. also cancer patients and glacoma sufferers would greatly benefit. and some moms have told me marijuana is their stress relief from their kids lol. weed is great. everyone just needs to give it a chance to see if its right for them. I work two jobs also and enjoy smoking with my roomies before hitting the sack at night :)

It should absolutely be legal. It is less addictive than alcohol yet alcohol is legal ..its regulated with age limitations but legal. Oxycodone morphine hydrocodone all other pain meds are legal with a prescription but look at the tristate area and the country for that matter and thoae that are addicted to pills. Marijuana isn't addictive...you chill relax eat and sleep. But drug manufacturers would lose millions in revenue from pain pills and antidepressants so the government won't legalize it

we need to point out there are safer alternatives than smoking to the ignorant. cannabinoids are fat soluble, and when eaten offer a safe "extended release" effect. vaporization is another safe method doctors in medicinally legal states encourage. any way you slice it, breathing HOT SMOKE is terrible for your lungs. "SMOKE IS HEALTHFUL?" seems to be a big debate for those on the fence.

I totally agree with iknowallaboutit we pay our taxes I mean how many people have you heard of killing a human by smoking pot and driving, If anything the use of Alcohol should be illegal.

I 100% support legalization for medicinal and recreational use. I see no benefit to marijuana remaining illegal.

It does need to be legalized!! Of course they should make rules and laws to make it safer. Just think about how much money the government can make by taxing it...could get this country out of debt!! Smoking some weed to relax is not bad...I love it and I hate having to hide it from everyone!

Contact your local State Reps and have them to vote for HB 3251. Legalization for medical marijuana is on the floor now. We must stand united and numbers will speak. Think what it will do for our State debt. VOTE FOR HOUSE BILL 3251. You can go to the NORML website, click on states and go to WV and get the information needed to contact your State Rep.

I personally dont smoke it. But! out of all the people I know about 99% of them do smoke, and not for medical reasons! They should make it legal tax it like cigs and alcohol and put that tax toward the debt...

All the little kids are gonna think its OK because their momma and daddy do it. Then they gonna become addicted to Cracka and everything else. Its already proven to be a gateway drug. Theres gonna be alot more fatalities because people are gonna smoke and drive and kill innocent people. Everytime I arrest a criminal doper I make the jurisdiction some money and feel proud because I got some drugs off the street, not to mention a step closer to my quota. Everyday I see the bad effects of Marijuana on society. I saw my brother in law on it the other day and he was acting all goofy and I almost pulled out my service revolver to put that doper in hell where he belongs in the fiery pit with the devil.
