They sure let him off easy, pleading guilty to one of seventeen felony counts. He will probably get a couple of years at Club Fed and a lecture from the judge.

These dope dealing doctors, who are getting rich, should get some serious hard time.

You should change that to the 'dopeman doctor can'.

Yeah, they sure did let him off easy. I've heard some disturbing things about this dude that warrants him going to jail for a lot longer.

Now there will be a bunch of Neurotics who will go to the other extreme and want all pain meds banned. Actually it is legal to have a maximum of 240 vicodins a month in extreme cases but more than that would give a person more than 4000 mg's of tylenol which is the maximum daily limit. In the majority of cases doctors prescribe the legal amount but as of recent much less because of all the negative news about a very few doctors who do like this doctor. It's not the doctors fault if someone lies to get pain meds or take more a day than the bottle says.

There is much more to it than 240 pills a month. Were talking 1500 and some cases 3,000 a WEEK. Actually, all the Physicians in the San Gabriel valley are disgusted with this and say it has been coming for many many years. they have had to deal with many of Healeys patients asking for mass quantities and had to refer them out. He was selling drugs (not giving scripts) and thats why he has plead guilty

What were the other 16 counts, if he plead guilty to just one of 17 counts? How can all others have been erased before they even go to court or to a judge? Plea bargains based on what?./. Simple math should easily conclude too much was sold per patient he could possibly have seen, and as Woo Hoo says, he was selling drugs (not writing prescriptions)... money directly into his pocket. To think the community was aware of this for YEARS... and at $680K per year he will have made out like a bandit, while overdrugged patients were at risk for their lives - some may have even lost lives (who is able to prove this if no record of patients and drugs sold were kept). This offense shouldn't be payable with a mere 20 years even - but bet you he will get away with far less. There is no moral justice. The greedy end up buying some of the best defense lawyers and getting away with criminal activity.

Sad, You come to Oklahoma and it's very, very difficult to get a doctor to write a pain script unless it is for a very extreme case.

I don't care what anyone sez about Dr Healy. I went to him for over 15 yrs, He was always professional and caring and in all that time I never saw people walking out with bags of drugs....
I will miss him as he was a good "urgent care" Dr. and you knew that if you could'nt get into your primary care Dr., you could go to Dr. H
He was not just a "cash only" He billed my insurance everytime I went to him.
He will be greatly missed .

I was insurance only, as well. Insurance also paid for my drugs. I never bought, nor was offered, pills for cash... I didn't need them. He kept me very well supplied with scripts. Five, sometimes more, controlled substances at a time, all very high quantities and doses. I took them willingly, the doctor prescribed them, so it was ok, right? RIGHT...

Can you honestly say you NEVER saw ANYONE with a backpack or a purse come in and out of that office? They wouldn't make it obvious, that's how they've gotten away with it for so long. I've heard of things that happened in the early '90's...
It is a shame, I trusted him completely, he was my first big kid doctor... saw him for 21 years, as my primary doctor, up until I made the decision to go into Rehab... which he didn't know about until my mom called him and said don't ever treat my kid again. This was a year before he was busted. Mom still doesn't get that he didn't force me to take those drugs.

I'm doing what I must do, the consequences of my actions for doing drugs, being a drug addict, staying sober. Healy is is doing what he must do, the consequences of HIS actions... selling dope to addicts. In a way, that was his addiction... perhaps the rush of getting away with something, the money, I really don't know, nor is it my business. Just pray for him, I do.

True, he didn't force you to take the drugs and you should have known better to ever do it, if not really medically necessary. Hopefully, you will get over your addiction and never do it again.

For doing this to you and so many others, that worthless scum bag (get rich) doctor, should really suffer the consequences and spend many years in prison. He violated his trust big time, and his medical license should be revoked.

Hi ya H.Y., how old was he when he started. Big
difference between minor and adult. Why wasnt Mom checking scripts if he was a minor and monitering them? This is a OOber large slip between the cracks, that many people would have been aware of at SOME TIME. The pharmacist, specialist. Thisis DIFFERENT in my opinion,if this was a minor.
Stay Sweet! Sincerely, Mystic

I am expressing my opinion about drug users who I detest as failures in life. These people not only screw up themselves, but are a determent to society.

I also have total contempt for any medical professional who has anything to do with it.

If you don't like me restating the obvious, that is your problem. Not everyone is as smart as you and couldn't understand the obvious even though it is right in front of them.
