321.6 in criminal fines for killing over 5,000 and maiming others.
628.4 million as a civil settlement.
plead GUILTY to a MISDEMEANOR charge (basically fraud) that it marketed Vioxx as a rheumatoid arthritis treatment before getting approval from the FDA.(you can see how toothless the FDA is if this is a misdemeanor).
As one can see Merck produces and markets fauty, fraudulent product. They committ fraud. They are guilty of criminal negligence causing harm and death. They are criminals and their CEO'S should be in prison. Even with these fines, Merck is not going bankrupt. Too bad.

Do a search of any pharma product or any pharma company with the word lawsuit, and you can read about their perpetual appearences in court over their faulty, fraudulent products. They were found at fault so many times, they were near bankruptcy. They blackmailed governments by claiming they would stop making vaccines. It led to the Vaccine injury compensation program, a vaccine court and in 2010, the U.S. government gave blanket protection for vaccines makers, meaning no form of litigation applies to them. Thats a lot of protection over "safe vaccines" that have rare and mild side effects.

The penalties Merck paid are a fraction of its total profit from viouxx. Its how they do bussiness. They knowingly put faulty, fraudulent product out and then settle out of court so no information or guilt is found. That way the CEO'S and owners never go to prison where the basturds belong.

Haven't you read about vioxx. They new it had serious issues. They went ahead because they have money invested, stockholder/investors to please and they need product to sell. They were making 250 million a year off vioux and sold it for some time. Explain why its CEO or owners are not being charged with manslaughter if not murder?
