Is it bad to take Ativan?

Ativan is the most damaging benzo, you should use it only seldomly.

Only reason i have used temesta have been when i was really out of control (I have prescription) and:

1) asked for a knife to do suicide
2) spent 500 euros to pointless taxi rides
3) set up fire that burnt down a whole house
4) I finally understood how my life (brain) have been destroyed by seroquel (that I cannot discontinue) that I ate for mild insomnia and wierd dream-like symptoms like an idiot. I just kept eating it because doctor wanted me to.(it was 100% fucking clear that I was not long-term mental health patient - i just had stress that caused panic and other problems)

Then I took temesta. First 1mg and then 2mg for sleep. I wouldn't use it otherwise. Destroys your GABA receptors quickly (as seroquel hasn't already slowly destroyed me). Now I'm going to jail where it is 100% sure I won't get help to discontinue seroquel (unless miracle happens). Doesn't really matter that much - I have tried to use (also private) ones but they cannot help you either.

Now the only thing I can try to do in life is to try to convince that I'm not depressed (minimize number of drugs you will be given).

Really nice example how society destroys good citizen (rarely drank alcohol or partied) I was a scientist but then I got cheated by a big company (contracts), escaped but because of stress in a panic took oxamin after drinking lots of alcohol for a one weekend (I was going to go to court).
Now psychiatry thought I was benzo abuser (didn't know that someone even abuses such things) and gave me seroquel (with smile on their face) which I ate like a idiot.(well it helped with panic and wierd problems but at what cost..).

seroquel is only for people how are about to do suicides or in psychosis.

- well short term (rare) use of benzos is about ok
- antipsychotics are just poison its that simple

Psychiatric drugs often CANNOT BE STOPPED even if you didn't have any problems in the first place. Or at least you need a private hospital or something where it will be done.

Recently I went to see my doctor about having anxiety and a hard time with breathing..all work related streee. My doctor prescribed activan and said I shoud take 2 tablets a day, then 2 at night to help with sleep. I only took the meds for two to three weeks and when I tried to get off my body reacted horribly...my neck was so stiff and I got the shakes really bad..I am now taking 1 tab [.5] a day and break it into half. I'm trying to taper of with the least possible side effects! I don't wish ativan on anyone. I only wished I would have researched it prior to taking it

It is definitely not in your head. I was given Ativan a 15 days prescription of 2mg per each pill. I had jaw surgery and they collapsed my septum. In the hospital I suffered anxiety and they gave me two treatments of ativan but after two days I came home could not sleep for about 5 days, then I began taking ativan. I had no food in my body and weight had dropped to 106 lbs. I began taking 2mg for 5 days, then went without for three and suffered major anxiety, took an ambien to sleep but then began taking Lorazepam again. I had one pill left out of the 15 and flushed it and went cold turkey. I had muscle cramping, had horrible thoughts, body shaking, and rebound. I ended up in the hospital in a guarded room. Do not listen to anyone about becoming addicted. It depends on your weight, how much your taking and how your body handles it. I had never taken a drug before; i don't even ingest caffeine. The hospital wanted me back on the drug to be weaned but I worked with homeopathic doctors and took their products. It took 6 days to get out of system and still suffering some minor withdrawals. Get off of this product and if you want the name of homeopathic supplements to take to help with anxiety and get off of this product, let me know dbecker0346@optonline.net
Ativan or any of the Benzos are dangerous drugs. They alter the brain and can permanently damage your central nervous system.

if you didnt sleep for 60 days you would have been dead, you were on the highest dose possible which is the explanation for your severe reaction when trying to withdraw from it.

lorazepam should not be taken for more than 2-4 weeks,it causes physical withdrawal symptoms if taken longer than this, it should be only taken in small ammounts per day, usually 2-4 mg per day in divided doses, taken for long periods will ruin your life, so be warned.

I"m taking 4mg a day.I usually take all 4 in the morning before work.I work a high stress job. I don't get tired, and I feel good all day,and I don"t get anxious or nervous.My wife wants me to quit(she wants me to quit everything that is "bad" for me)but it really helps me.I'm willing to meet her half-way and take 2mg a day.Do you think this is a "fair" trade?

I was given atavan iv at an ER in Round Rock Texas, and every thing was wrong. I was screaming and my body was shaking. It was so embarrassing it was like have tourette's symptoms. Never knowing when I would state this wild shaking and screaming. I have never done this before. I went it for non stop vomiting. The previous week I was in another hospital with 104.4 fever which they could not figure out. I have Avascular Necrosis in both hips and only had surgery on one because they can't find the cause for the fever. I came home and took more benadryl to combat the effects. Report bad doctors and ER's. I am going too

There's a very fundamental rule to taking Ativan - it's not supposed to be a medication you are on 24/7 - it's meant to attack panic attacks head on. once the attack is gone, you cease taking them. It is also EXTREMELY useful for either quitting drinking or doing an alcohol detox - anyone who's experienced Delerium Tremens and has lived will tell you this. I take one whenever I get panic attacks, 1mg or .5, and it works fine for me. It also made quitting alcohol bearable. Again, if you are 'on' this daily then you are not properly using the drug. It's a sedative. Do you need sedation all the time? Then there's another issue you have.

after takin marijuana, im scared of goin crazy, my doctor priscribed ativan. i started usin ativan it realy helps bt im already addicted. I wonder if i cn stop usin ativan.

I have bn taking attivan 2 mg 2 times a day and it helps me not to have panic attacks! I have a panic disorder and despite counseling cognitive behavior and deep breathn attivan is the only thing that works for me!!! So thabk u to the makers of attivan!!!

Go for a non-benzo, long-term use anti-anxiety like Prozac or cymbals. Ati is not meant for daily, long-term use!!!!!

I take Ativan -- just 1 mg a day. I love it. It's the only drug that has allowed me to go about my daily life without anxiety. Am I addicted? I don't know. Have been on it for 2 years and if I do forget to take it one day, it doesn't seem to matter. And, I haven't had to increase the dosage. My shrink says I'm fine.

every benzo is addictive if you use if for more than 1 week !!!
