If the guy has such little respect for himself and the public service he is hired to do, how can we expect him to respond appropriately in a crisis situation? We can't. Isn't it amazing that he has to sign an agreement that if he breaks the rules again he will be fired. Typical problem of society. No one is accountable for their actions. Never mind he knew it was against the rules in the first place. Did you know possession of alcoholic beverages in a city vehicle is grounds for termination per city policy? That is why we have so many people who break the rules and the law. If they get caught its someone elses fault, or they suffer from depression or PTSD or whatever. Everyone gets a second, third, fourth and so on chance. Where will it ever end?

Hey, I thought the city had a Zero Tolerance policy to drugs/alcohol while on duty possession or otherwise....? Once again the people of Albuquerque are bamboozled and hoodwinked into Chief Ortega and Mayor Marty's bull$hit. Mayor you should replace the Chief as soon as possible, and fire the firefighter and let him fight to get his job back, hell by the time he gets through the process you Mr. Mayor may not even be the Mayor anymore.
