Soda gives you problems in your kidney bones and heart. WHy drink it? It just hurts you it causes your bones to slowly get weaker and weaker. It can cause serious kidney stone problems. And it has alot of air which is bad. SO I ask you why drink soda if it just ends up hurting you in the long run. And odn't give me that it tastes good. IT only tastes good until you get in alot of pain from kidney stones!!!

Oh ok, you mom drank alot of soda and got kidney stones, so that means drinking soda = weak bones, hurts your kidneys, etc. Makes sense.

My friend who is 19 got a kidney stone this past week, doesn't drink much soda but drinks alcohol alot, in fact all the people I know who had kidney stones drank alot of beer/liquor.

Just so everyone is aware, soda has no direct effect on your kidneys. I have been told the dye in dark sodas causes cancer, I have been told the carbonation causes stones, i have been told by people they know people who drank soda and got kidney stones. none of these are true. i will not waste my time searching for sources for you. it is very easy to look up. Soda is only bad for your teeth because it is loaded with sugar and phosphoric acid. these are in many foods. so many foods are bad for your teeth. just brush your teeth like normal and you'll be fine. kidney stones are developed due to low calcium diets. if there isn't enough calcium to bind with oxalates in your blood. it will form the tiny crystals we call kidney stones. i'm not a doctor so thats the best explanation i can give you. if anyone really wants a solid answer do some research or ask a doctor, a good one, in the right feild, like a urologist

oh and the comment about your mother drinking it her whole love and having kidney stones? most old people get kidney stones.

and I could say I drank water my whole life and got pneumonia. does that mean water gives you pneumonia? obviously right? it must right? i've got solid evidence don't it?

or I wear shoes all the time and i broke my arm. must be because of these shoes.

LmFaO Your hillarious bob. hes right though having a low calcium diet and lack of proper hydration can cause kidney stones. There are still cases on which some people practice a helthy diet their whole lives and still develop stones

Take it from someone who knows from experience--I took calcium pills and also drank a lot of dark soda, and I developed kidney stones. It took many years and many surgical procedures to get rid of them, because they developed over and over, even after I stopped the calcium and soda. It may have been the combination of both, but believe me it was no fun. Have also known other people who have developed kidney stones who drank a lot of dark soda.

Read my previous post. I was told by my doctor, a prominent urologist, Chief of Staff of a urology department, and eminently more qualified and experienced than just plain folk to assess this problem, that it is DARK soda that can cause kidney stones. Some ingredient in dark soda causes this. Other people I know with kidney stones have also been told by their doctors not to drink any dark soda. 7Up and Sprite and other sodas are okay, but not dark soda. It also took years for this to develop; I was in my late 40s when this occurred.

Hey blondie101 what's up you got nothing on these guys? All you got is calling Jackass anybody who disagrees? Hate stupid people in forums. Discussion is healthy no need for confrontation/insults.

Lots of people say lots of contradicting things, including doctors. It doesn't make any sense that "dark" soda does cause stones but not clear soda. It is only caramel color.

Something in Cola nuts promotes stone. Tannic acid in tea promotes stone. Calcium pills promotes stones. Dehydrating promotes stones. My mother was even told to drink only filtered water by her urologist because we have a high mineral level in our water. The big factor is your body makes stones. Two people can eat and drink identically and only one develope stones. Utilamately, it is your bodies reaction that makes a difference, which is why Dr's analyze your stone to inform you of what to avoid to minimize your risk

[Why in the world would someone who obviously can't even spell be considered as a logical source of information? And to post from personal experience.. I have been dealing with MANY kidney stones over the past 2 months. Soda does, in fact, hurt my kidneys. It seems to be anything carbonated seems to hurt it. I do not attribute the carbonation to the pain; but more the chemicals or preservatives they place in the soda that hurts the kidneys, forming stones. The stones can be formed and caused from many different sources. An acid in a drink may be just enough to break the stones loose from the kidney wall, causing pain when they move. I am no doctor... but have had my fair fair fair share of kidney stones (15 in one month to be precise.) Just thought I would offer my 2 cents worth.

Yeah, sodas do help you get kidney stones.
They leach minerals out of your body and your kidneys get backed up or they might have a little spec and then it develops.. like hail. progressively getting worse.

I'm dealing with one right now. It's a high mineral diet with out good liquids. you could eat healthy but you drink bad. but its different for everyone.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Gemini

You're in a warm-hearted and generous mood today, especially when dealing with loved ones and members of the family. You want to give them as much of your time as possible, and also to do anything else that will keep them happy. The only snag will come if you're trying to spread yourself too thin and you end up making promises that will be difficult, if not impossible, to keep. You may forget all about them but other people won't.
