it's pathetic that state law still has not been changed to correct this outmoded and anit-competitive situation that holds brewers hostage to distributors.

Sadly, NG won't likely be back as they pulled out of Chicago in order to make sure they met demand in Wisconsin. Nearly ten years later and they still haven't come close to satiating those Wisconsinites. Oh, well, we're not that far from the border.
They're also on the verge of completing a new brewery that will approximately triple their capacity, so a re-emergence of New Glarus into the Chicago market is a distinct possibility.

I'm glad it's back. The one thing I missed about Michigan during college in Champaign was the good microbrews. Stocking up on Oberbon and Porter Ale was a ritual for me when I was back in the Kalamazoo area.

Hopefully, Bell's has good sales in Illinois.

Good to know there are so many fellow New Glarus fans out there. Anyone know of a place that carries New Glarus that's not far from 94?

Are New Glarus beers carried anyplace in Indiana (e.g. near 80 & the state line?)

if you go into mars cheese castle or woodmans in the kenosha area you should find new glarus. I know that Mars carries a few of the new glarus beers and have the sampler pack which includes my two other faves uff-da bock and fat squirrel. My husband works in racine and he goes to a place called sentry foods that sells it. You can find some new glarus in just about any liqour store over the border in wisconsin, might not have a big selection.
I'm just glad that maybe with bells coming back I can to binny's, not if new glraus can do that I will be one happy mommy

I'll continue to homebrew. While I admit Bells is very good, I like my homebrew more, and I don't have to tithe king richard or princeling toddles for the ABV.
1 Kalamazoo please

What a bunch of JERKS at Chicago Beverage Systems! What a screwed up system we have! If it weren't for crooked politicians, we could get rid of this archaic system and have whatever we want, whenever we want. HOORAY FOR THE RETURN OF BELLS!!!
welcome back

1) Oberon is a wheat beer, not an amber.
2) Kalamazoo Wheat is a darn good beer, but it is different from Oberon.

Oberon... glorious Oberon. No longer will I whimper like a fat kid denied cake at the liquor store, realizing that I will, once again, have to ask my parents to act as Oberon mules, trotting across the Michigan border to get me my fix. I have my slice of orange and my lawn chair ready!
your liquor store sells cake?!?! very cool. the mayonnaise Portillo like cake or just a white angel food like thingy?!
