Da kine Idea!
Did you know that even though Kona Brewing Company brews their beer in Hawai'i, the beer in the bottles is brewed on the mainland and shipped to Hawai'i? Why, because it costs too much to bottle the beer. I personally would like to see Kona Brewing Company learn from Maui Brewing Company and be able to say, "Brewed in Hawai'i" Mahalo Garrett for keeping the labor and profit in Hawai'i.

I visit Maui several times a year and always bring back Maui Bikini Blonde. It's a hit to many of my Portland microbrew "experts" Portland doesn't like can beer but maybe they will change.

I am heading over to Maui today on vacation. First stop will be to pick up some of the Maui beers. I had a Toasted Coconut Porter at the Yard House at Waikiki over the weekend and it is a unique and flavorful beer.
