Hell, I've been under the impression that beer was 6%. I grew up when there was 3.2% for sundays and 6% other days. Now they want 21%?? Jeez I won't be able to enjoy a couple of beers in the evening without getting a headache. I'm 72 years old and can't take 2 of the 20% alcohol content. If they raise it they better start putting the amount on the label so conspicuous that I can read it with my cheaters.

It is about time Ohio join with other states and allow beers like this into the state. Wines have no alchol limits nor do liquors. I remember back when the state allowed 3.2 beer for those 18 to 21 as if that stopped teen drinking. And do you really think that people willing to spend $150 for a bottle of beer are going to be out drinking it in bars to get loaded?

After you lose your job under Kasichs watch, you can drink you sorrow away. I'm glad the beers are going to be stronger, because we will be able to afford less of them.

The amounts are already on the label for 99% of the beers on the market. You, as the consumer, should always know what you are buying and the responsible way to enjoy the product. Don't make laws for me because you do not want to take the time know what you are buying. I for one would agree with getting rid of the limits, I have had the utopia from Sam Adams and it is a great beer, but you drink it the same way you drink a brandy or scotch. A 1-2 oz pour in a sifter. If the state is going to allow for 75% alcohol in liquer there is no reason to not allow higher alcohol content beer for those of us that enjoy it in a responsible manner. The max for beer is 30%, still well below most liquers.

There's no reason why this should not pass. Beer dorks want to be able to get their hands on a lot of high ABV barleywines, roided out IPAs, and other bourbon barrel aged offerings. Good move Ohio...

HEY! It sure worked for getting rid of those pesky Native American Indians, so why not the bulk of Ohio-ians!

STAND BACK EVERYONE! THIS WILL OPEN THE FLOOD GATES FOR BUSINESSES WANTING TO RE-LOCATE TO OHIO!

This is truly a "JOB CREATOR"

Kudos to the State Legislature for keeping their pulse on WHAT IS IMPORTANT FOR THE PEOPLE OF OHIO!

Alcohol like Gin, Vodka, Whiskey, etc all are over these percentages so why not permit beer to be also. This is a no-brainer to pass. Most people will still just buy the 12 pack of bud light anyway.

Why aren't the legislators working on ways to get more jobs in Ohio? We don't need more powerful beer in Ohio, we need jobs. Oh, and yeah, legislators, right...you want to make beer with more alcohol, while the gun-toter conceal carry people take their guns into the bars... smart.

I don't know many college students who are willing to shell out ten bucks for a craft beer... however these same students will still be beer bonging pitchers of Natural Light.

Legislators can't make jobs, only entrepreneur's can... like the owners of microbreweries... the ones that want to make higher ABV beer.

Didn't you hear? The R's also decided to prohibit local governments from placing limits on the fast food industry. Lots of greenspace that will now have a Taco Bell on it. Lots of minimum wage jobs. How's that for "job creation?"

Would you like fries with that?

We live in a country where obesity and type 2 diabetes (or, whichever the type that's attributed to fattness and sloth...) is the norm, but the government stipulates how much alcohol Sam Adams, Great Lakes, or Rogue can put in a good micro brew... How about we stupulate how much saturate fat and caloric intake Americans can have instead of dilluting good beer!

I HAVE SPOKEN!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, we do. What we need fewer of are nanny-staters like you.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aquarius

You won't like it if you feel your wings are being clipped today. You want to do something in particular, only to discover that someone is objecting to your plans or that circumstances beyond your control are standing in your way. Although your instincts tell you to throw a tantrum to get your point across, you must ask yourself what this will achieve, and whether it will actually be self-defeating.
