Ah beer, the drink of the masses. Since all the problems seem to hit all at once, the god like nectar of the people should not bear a price increase. But look at the bright side of things, people will start drinking whisky since things are bound to get worse, ten dollar a gallon gasoline, skyrocketing electric and gas bills, and rampaging inflation. Yes sir, the God of the people, the humble Beer, will not be enough to sooth the savage beast in the heart of the beer drinker. He will need a lot stronger stuff to stomach the wave of misery coming down on his trash filled brain. Even the dumdest will know something is wrong and being dumb will react by having another swig of brain numbing joy. Hell, being drunk is better than facing reality.

Where are they polling that people said they dont mind paying more for beer?? No where I know. I mind! I mind alot. So if the price goes up in the store, it goes up at the bar and club. So i'm already paying close to 6 bucks for a glass of beer now. How can we be surprised at all of the crime lateley when prices are the only thing going up? People are losing jobs by the masses but yet you think it's the best thing to do raise the prices?

Perhaps the point should be that as costs go up across the board, beer is still less expensive that whiskey or wine and represents an alternative to those beverages. Trading down from wine or whiskey to imported or craft beer is a better way to save and still be able to enjoy a nice alcohol drink. Friend Rockwell from Manassas may want to switch to PGA if a cheap drunk is the goal!

Man I have no idea where that response came from but are you suggesting the regular wine and (whiskey?) drinkers will switch to beer since beer is still cheaper than those two products with prices going up across the board? Are u living on Earth? In America even? I think an even better point would be make sense when you post on the board.

If, when you talk of nectar of the Gods, you specifically mean Flying Dog beers, I have to disagree. There is nothing else that will soothe this savage beast than a tasty swig of Double Dog IPA. Of course, there are always exceptions - hot summer days call for Woody Creek White and if I can get my hands on some Garde Dog then I am super happy. If you really need a swig of whiskey, try some Stranahan's - with a beer chaser, of course.
