Let the man make his art, govt is a fat pig wanting it all, howbout the govt do something to bring down our deficit while at the same time not taxing everyone to the point they are poor......LEGALIZE POT AND USE ITS FUNDS TO HELP OUR COUNTRY OUR. Thinkabout it, people who sell weed are the gateway to harder drugs, not the drugs themselves, stop allowing the lawyers to rule the world by incriminating kids for trying to relax w how bad yal fused up the world

He may have produced the best moonshine but being discrete is a large part of the whole pic. If he's the world's greatest Moonshiner how come he's not making it now? He was a jackass when i met him but inbreeding and egomania will do that.

It was worth the drive to get the shine. Popcorn was part of the show and made it more fun. Egomaniac as he might be, he's a bygone breed. Once he's gone, all we have left is the ABC store. No adventure in that. |
|
Moonshining is alive and well. There's just one less dumbass involved now. |

This man has never hurt anyone. He is a legend in our county. Everytime I have ever had the privalege to be around him he was never a jack***. I think about child molestors and so forth that walk with probation or even better yet the man in the Mountaineer a coupleof months ago who got probation with over $10,000 worth of illegal drugs and firearms. Come on, give him a break.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the last 7 posts were put here by the SAME PERSON!
He's a criminal. Making moonshine is illegal. He knew it and he done it anyway. He should go to jail like anyone else who breaks the law. |

Seriously don't we have other pressing issues besides harassing an old man for trying to bring a bit of happiness to the world?

Happiness to the world? Educate yourself, tink, and go read the Haywood County criminal record he has. Arson, attempted murder, etc. Then see what happiness you think he brings to the world.

Now, now, Sport. Name-calling is certainly not necessary. If you don't like what Popcorn's supporters are saying, well, by all means, click on another forum. In the meantime, Popcorn's got a few friends, and they deserve to have their say. You ever heard of a folk legend? If so, then you'll understand Popcorn's friends. |

Making moonshine is an illegal art. We made Popcorn Sutton an icon by producing documentories and glorifying his skill. He flaunted it in the faces of the law time and again. Personally, I would have preferred my tax dollars to prosecute some meth head, but we like to let those people roam the streets.

Judged: 1 1 Although illegal, moonshining is a part of Appalachian culture and Americana in general. It is an art that needs to be preserved. God bless ya, Popcorn. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationw... |
