It is amazing how we get in a position of Authority and then believe we are above the law. As a public official it should be your duty to uphold the law and follow it just as if you were a regular citizen.

What the heck is the world coming to when a child molestor can travel around the globe for six years and be set free but a democratically elected mayor of a major US city can't go to Canada without being sent to jail! JAIL...are you serious???

It's about time. He should have resigned a long time ago. When people are too stupid to leave, sometimes you have to push them out of the door. He's still mayor but the door is opening.

it is about time for that city to do something about this law breaker, and of course he denies charges, he believes he is above the law, the real authorities need to remind him of 'what the law is!!!

He needs to go to jail for a long time and because he is black I think it may happen.

I think that placing the mayor of a major city in jail for handling city business is outrageous. He was doing his job. He is under investigation for lying about cheating on his wife, Bill Clinton did it and he still looked up to. I think that this guy has been targeted because of who he is. I do not mean that he is black so please do not respond to that. I mean that he is young and powerful and has powerful relatives in politics. Other people in government seem to have a grudge against him or his family. The punishment for going a few minutes outside of the city to do his job is unjust and a complete misuse of the justice system.

You don't get it do you! He was under COURT ORDER to notify the court before traveling. He did not notify the court, therefore he was in violation of a court order no matter the reason for travel.
