I thought the new company said they would make things better, but for who? Not for the associates. Lets cut their hours or their jobs, who cares who they are or how long they have been with the company. We are just a number to them, nothing else. We have a life and families to support too.

The company has already cut hours and laid off employees. Many have over 10 yrs vested in the company. No one can live off of 20 hrs a week. Everything is going up but our pay.
As for the Union Stores if your contract is due to expire fight for what you want, dont give in to the company.

When they closed the Albertsons where I shopped for over a decade and I knew everyone there by name,I vowed never to shop at Albertson's again. I see now I'm not the only one. Closing these stores to begin with was a HUGE MISTAKE. Whoever Albertson/Grocery Warehouse hired for "Money Management" should be fired and all those closed stores reopened with a huge apology to the very community that generated them money in the first place.
Albertsons is going the way of Biggs.(Remember Biggs?)
I say employees better look for another train to hop onto before this train comes to a crashing halt.

Somerfield are doing the same thing, but forcing staff out of jobs, take a serious pay cut or leave is the attitude, and this has been backed by the union.......I know where you are coming from.

Take the metal out of your faces and I might shop at ALbertsons. The last time I shopped there the Assistant Manager had a nose stud, gross.

Let me be blunt.... I worked for the BIG "A" for 18 years, the last 10 in store level management. If you think most large companies care about their employees (other than if they are smiling and at work) you are dead wrong! It is a bottom line culture. Want to be happy? Get out now!

That's not surprising! Almost all employers are making some kind of changes.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Libra

You have a tremendous amount of nervous energy today and you need to find positive ways of expressing it, otherwise it could make you rather irritable and restless. Ideally, you should do something physical, such as going for a brisk walk, cleaning the house while working up a sweat or getting your money's worth out of the gym. Don't take out your frustrations on people who don't deserve them.
