Having lived in Mexico City the past 6 months and watching the driving habits of the Mexican truckers, I can only imagine the chaos that is about to descend upon the motorists of the US. Lack of regard for Mexican traffic laws, will follow along and just wait for the first major accident with deaths of US citizens caused by a Mexican trucker....especially if he flees back across the border.

We're screwed. Stay off the highways.

Something tells me this is a bad idea

Our safety is being traded for their profits. Don't believe for a second that this will keep prices down. Corps have no incetive to pass these savings on to you.

Will these trucks be marked to we can harass them and run them off the roads??

You are some sicko. Christians had nothing to do with NAFTA - Clinton was the one who got it through and now Bush is going to finish it.

This is a BAAAAAAAAD idea. I don't know why Bush seems to love Mexicans so much, but maybe he should move to Mexico. Mexican truckers do not have the same rules, regulations and safety standards that we have in the US. My dad used to work at a truck parts company and he said whatever didn't meet US regulations was sold to someone who took the parts to Mexico. That's so comforting to know. I think I'll be avoiding the highways.

If American Truckers were smart they would STRIKE!
NAFTA is bad for America and very bad for Truckers. Truckers you do not need a Union to Strike. You all have the ability to shut down this country all of you need to TAKE A WEEK VACATION ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Let Congress and the President know where you stand and how much power you have.

My wife and I are truckers. When this starts, it will make the wages go down even further and cause the real american truckers to run illegal to make the money to support themselves. Further more, the trucking industry has a bad enough reputation in this country, this will further the public opinion of us. We are nothing but the scum of the road. This is just another reason for the illegals to be here in this country. They will disappear from their trucks and continue taking over this country.

I am starting to agree with people like Gun Toter. Something has to be done about the mexicans taking over american jobs. If the wussy gov't won't take a stand, the citizens need to. This has to stop now before the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA becomes mexico!!!

What a novel new way to smuggle new Mexicans into America by the thousands... Just brilliant!

A few months ago, I heard an interview with Jimmy Hoffa Jr. He said if this these Mexican trucks are allowed to cross into the USA, the American truckers, were going to set up blockades, along the main routes that the truckers will travel. Interesting thought? Talk about selling out this country! I see a revolution coming in this country, by the people for the people, what a laugh.

Just the thought of what these people will be smuggling into our borders "legally" is terrifying. I would say "what were they thinking?" but it's pretty obvious...... it's all about money, and how much more Bush and his cronies can get their hands on. Are we going to have to come up with a new national anthem now too?
