Life guards are our everyday unsung heroes. Like cops, firemen, soldiers, EMT's, and many more.

Lifeguards should get paid what firemen get. They save more lives every day with prevention programs they any other department in Hawaii. They are also heroes and brave beyond belief.

Those rescued should pay a fee for the services rendered. Will help raise salaries for lifeguards and provide more of them.

Come on moms and dads, exercise some responsibility with yoour kids. If the surf looks bad, keep them out of the water. Everyone was lucky today, but there will come a time when there won't be enough lifeguards to take care of every emergency. Just use some smarts people.

One of our lifeguards (Mel Pu'u) will have his annual surf meet at Makaha tomorrow, a fund raiser for the family of a brother who did not make it.

Mel is a pioneer of stand up surfing, a champion canoe paddler and an all around good guy. Guy Hage said it will be a perfect day for this meet so see you there.

Plenty food, t-shirts, music, famous surfers, and lots of fun. So let's support these guys.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Scorpio

Don't believe everything you see today and your memory could be playing tricks on you, too. You might remember things in a distorted or false way, through no fault of your own. You may also be reading too much into the situations that are going on around you, making it hard for you to know what's really happening. Try not to make any big decisions today because you simply aren't thinking straight.
