Hello,
One hundred twenty eight Hooters wings will net just about 1 lb. of edible product? This is what Hooters and MLE would have you believe after the most recent Hooters wing competition held on April 18, 2012 in Indianapolis, IN. where two professional eaters each separately consumed over 100 wings and both were announced to have ate just 16 oz. and 17 oz. total respectively. I don't think they thought about the fact when they announce that over 100 Hooters wings net just 1 lb. of food that besides being quite surprising it makes Hooters products look bad.

The individual who was crowned the winner by MLE on 4-18-12 is known as Crazy Legs Conti. Conti is a favorite of MLE for promotion of future events because of his likeable witty persona even though there are published videos of him clearly cheating while at a Nathans qualifier last year. Conti can be seen stuffing Nathans hot dogs in his surgical type rubber gloves as he removes them as well as depositing mouthfuls in a cup.

The winner of the Hooters qualifier on 4-5-12 was Sonya Thomas with a total of 148. In a segment of the video of this event it shows a aluminum pan which Thomas is depositing her "completed" wings. The wings are only partially consumed.

How does MLE and Hooters determine a winner? Is it numbers of wings or is it by weight? This seems to depend on what outcome they prefer. If you try to question the system used to determine winners be prepared for a run around.

There is a unpublicized part of this freak show known as competitive eating and in particular MLE. The MLE organization who is also known as IFOCE is a business which promotes various eating contest for several restaurant and food manufacturers. Contest of which many appear to have been and still are manipulated in favor certain eaters who work for MLE. In fact the contest known as debris contest such as wing eating are famous for unusual winner decisions. Several of the worlds best known eaters do not work for MLE like Kobi, Torres and Boone just to name a few yet MLE will regularly claim the worlds best status for one of the eaters under a contract with them.

Most of the public loves an eating contest... but do they know what really is going on behind the scenes? Its interesting stuff because it is so odd.

The next Hooters contest is in Mesquite, TX. on 4-28-2012 at the Real Texas Festival.

I have no association with any eating organization of any kind I just like food and fairness.

Contents included are my opinions and nothing more.

Wing NUT has an appropriate moniker. He "bolted" from the International Federation of Competitive eating (IFOCE)(now Major League Eating or MLE) years ago, after realizing he could not hold his own against much superior competitors in that organization--to include the very eaters about whose performances he is complaining.

Since 2004 he has been affiliated with an organization who eats at picnic-like, nonprofessional events, which are not recognized by MLE; MLE is the only recognized governing body of stomach-centric sports.

It is my sincere wish that he use his time more constructively. Tearing down other people and organizations elevates his status neither personally, nor professionally. Wing nut has yet to figure that out.

Buffalo Wild Wings has bigger and better wings than Hooters not even close. 100 Hooters wings gets ya 1 lb. "lite wings". HaHa

Whom are you talking about? Your dribble is vague in contrast to the op who list issues and backs up these with facts (links) directly supporting thier point of view. You call names. Your personal attack on them is clearly a attempt to divert away from the issue of Hooters and MLE misleading the public at these food contest.Why so angry? Crazy Legs Conti is cheating and the lady in the other video has a lot of unbeaten wings. The only person who would care as much as you would have to be working for MLE or Hooters. If you weren't at a contest, it's foolish to talk out your arses, so to speak, based on what you think, hear, or see in a video. For those throwing mud, do your butt cheeks flap when you keyboard?
