As nice as this young man sounds he is in the wrong business of a DPS officer in Texas. If it was up to them I would have been in prison at birth. I am not a bad person, not a speeder or crackhead. But the TDPS and a few other states I could care less of.
It may not be him to do wrong to innocent people because he WEARS A BADGE, but those who do it and he says nothing about. This is something he will and have already run into I am sure. I just care less and less for the DPS of Texas.

i remember applying for an operator position. it is a very thorough application process. the resume and application were well received. i passed two interviews. then this texarkana trooper calls me in on a saturday. he went over and over the idea this was a very serious job several times. he talked about how most of the troopers had military experience and were family men. he mentioned that they had a woman in mind for the position and that he would prefer that i withdrew so she would get the position. with that and the clear impression that i was not wanted by this guy and some clever trooper in the back office "i wouldnt feel comfortable around him" comment, it didnt seem to make much sense pursuing the issue. it didnt take the trooper long to draft up a voluntary withdrawal letter for me to sign, and he thanked me for my honesty of withdrawing from the position if it was too intense for my comfort.

what was i going to do in his office surrounded by troopers supportive to whatever he decides. tell him to get bent and not play favoritism in the hiring process. that wouldnt go over very well. in my opinion there was some questionable hiring practice going on there.

of course i had to report the issue to unemployment. the trooper assured me that it wouldnt be an issue, but he isnt the one signing the check. he just wants to rubber stamp it and get it out the door as soon as possible. UIC reviewed and found in my favor, but that was not the point.

this is what happens when bi-state Detective Coffee sits on his backside not dealing with a certain complaint. law enforcement is not paid to feel comfortable. they are paid to do their jobs. the clever attitude should be saved for the felony and misdemeanor criminals they stop on the road, but no they give them professional manners an courtesy. the very nature of their job would by definition deal with uncomfortable situations.

i was not impressed with Detective Coffee or Trooper Donut's job performance.

And Bowie county doesn't even evaluate their officers.
How can any agency know if their officer are any account if they don't?

I know how the hiring process work in Bowie county.

sure is easy for people to say they "know" everything when they dont. Most small towns have issues with knowing people to help get a job, but there is usually some type of evaluation. No evaluation is perfect. It is a shame how a whole department, or area, or even profession gets labeled from the mistakes of others.

This is ONE good point!
It is a shame how it works. Like having a bad cold.
Some catch it, some don't.
Having officers who are evaluated is like having them build up good immunities for the job. JMO!

Telstar, what would you have me say. Twice in Bowie county I have approached local law enforcement about someone bothering me on a job on a serious level. An alcoholic cussing me in front of other workers, and what turned out to be an alledged documented serial child molester in a state office. How many of you have had the misfortune to have encountered Trooper David Riggs in his official capacity? Meaning - an illegal traffic stop, illegal search and seizure, violation of your civil rights, solicitation of sex-drugs-or money, etc.?

Tom Green you hang in there, once these guys find out they got a fight on their hands they know how to act. I don't know any TDPS trooper's I like all ways had problems with them. Hell I tell stories about them across the country, about their injustice.

I just wish we had a way to protect the public from law enforcement who cross their line.

It is hard to prove a cop to be a liar!
Yet when one or two change their statements at the request of their supervisors and testify to that.
I say they become no less the criminal that any crack head on our streets.

What a hell of a life to live, I just couldn't do it, but it takes all kinds in this world. To be honest you are right about them and the crack heads. I WOULD HATE TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR EVERY MORNING AND SEE A CRACK HEAD OR A TDPS OFFICER. They can get mad I don't give a damn they made me that way.

When dealing with Howard Dunnam the Texas Ranger and his supervisor Capt. Vickers.
They were nothing but out and out rude to us parents of the dead.
Yet it was they who didn't do their job's.

I proved these people corrupt, I say corrupt because it is corrupt in my opinion to hide evidence that could get a conviction in four homicides.

That is what CCSO and the CC DA's office have done.

I have seen so much wrong from Law officers. Why cannot people, Stop the parents of the dead have justice?
