Sports Digest: El Paso pro cyclist struck by car while training
Professional cyclist Jaime Gandara, who raced against seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong in the recent Tour of the Gila in Silver City, N.M., was struck by a car Wednesday while training.

I hope he is alright, and I hope the driver who hit him is alright. I would like to comment, however, that these bike enthusiasts riding in the streets is a serious problem, even in El Paso. There are few bike lanes and sometimes these people training on their bikes just seem to pop out of nowhere. www.dimequecrees.com
