Your loyalty to Floyd is beyond question! If he does or can return! He has done his time so good luck to him. At this time he is entitled to compete.

Hopefully in the future dope taking and convictions for such, will mean a lifetime exclusion for all of this ilk.

Well! We really do'nt like to compare cycling to what you probably know best. NBA/NFL for starters. The drug capitals of pro sport for decades. All American, of course.

The Europeans were doping in one form or another in cycling before the NBA/NFA really got started. And certainly the French were right there in the heart of it.

You are right, it is true. But then the French are history revisionists. That's ok. When you get in a bind, the US will bail you out once again. Maybe you should use some of the French doping products to get your brain going, or are you too old and infirm for that?

LOL. It's the wrong thread for this, but I can't resist it.

In modern times. The US is only second to Nazi Germany in the stakes of mass murder. Millions in Vietnam followed by a Million or so in Iraq and the civilian murders by Gung-Ho American forces continue EVERYWHERE on the planet.

My brain is fine. No need for dope here. I'm not an American trying to mask recent atrocities coupled with cheating in SPORT. Cheating is a very American thing in modern times.

It does appear to an observer that America is attemping to pick up the mantle of colonialism where Europeon powers saw the LIGHT decades ago.

Back to SPORT. The minimum sentence for cyclists who dope is a 2 year ban.

The maximum sentence in the NBA/NFL is a three game ban.

Now! This is "tonge in cheek".

Oh yes, I remember now. The NBA (basket ball) a game copied from british school girls, called "Netball"

The NFL represents a game close to Rugby for armour plated fairies.

I suggest, the US needs to get ITS SELF out of many holes it has created. Usually the looser. Sometimes a winner on the back of others.

Having said that! WW1. After supplying both sides with war materials, jumps in at the last minute on the winning side. France and the British Empire lost MILLIONS of men before ANY support from a grasping greedy selfish AMERICA. Nothing changes. America's wars today are all about OIL.

Do you know what, my sympathies are with the long suffering American Joe. Continueing to be SHAFTED big time, By currupt self seeking politicians

The same in WW11. Lets make a PROFFIT selling war materials to both sides before we decide which side to support.

You really make me laugh (at you). French has been irrlevent since that midget ruled back in the early 1800's. Since then, the French talk the talk but don't walk the walk. Rather they throw their legs up like a dead horse.

But you go ahead and believe whatever you want to get through your old demented life. Keep in mind, the rest of the world thinks: It sucks to be French.
And I think: It sucks to be you.

Cher Raymond,

[MAY BE a double post (but with link!)]

t'as vu le documentaire APOCALYPSE sur FR2 ces dernières semaines?

Form---i---dable!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1508238/

I was lucky enough to see it on FR2 and TSR2 each Tuesday and Thursday... buy it (if it's translated into 'American' heh heh)

6 Hours of footage all 'harvested' from WWII-era amateur and propaganda film shots, most B/W, and 'colorized' in a less-than-full fashion (ie: you know it was B/W as you watch it)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1508238/

This is truly an amazing accomplishment in history...

Wang, you should read more US history...

Ask yourself, while you're laughing, why the Republican Congress kept us out of the war until 1942? When France and UK had suffered three years of combat (and yes, Joe KENNEDY was also purely anti-war: cuz he had three sons that could be called-up to fight... and only lost one of those...)

You were right about French doping pre-WW I, but even I as an ex-pat American know enough not to throw dung on the French, who'd lost a good part of two generations to bullets from Germans (in whose country Wall St investors increased their share some 40pc between the two wars)...

Great Britain and France were also in other countries, while trying to rule the people and get their resources, gold, silver, diamonds, oil, rubber, etc.

Why was France trying to take over Vietnam after WWII Raymond?

I'd be interested in your answer.

Hi Speedy I thought for a minute that I was on the wrong forum! Back from Wengen in Switzerland, good to see that nothing has changed here, still the same old moans and groans, a couple of new ones though who don't know history

Actually Pieter, Vietnam was already a colony of France.

But, after WWII, Ho Chi Ming went to the US government for help in getting the French government out of Vietnam.

The US government sided with the French government. That was a sad result overall as Vietnam was an ally who fought the Japenese during WWII.

So, Ho Chi Ming went to Joseph Stalin for help and the rest became history.

Vietnam today deals with many countries around the world.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Libra

It's another day when tensions are rife and you feel stretched to breaking point. You might even totally lose your temper with someone, instead of merely snapping at them as you did yesterday. Mars stomps into reverse today, so it would be better to clear the air now with a row, and then forget all about it, rather than allowing bad feelings to accumulate and fester inside you.
