I agree, I won't believe this until it has been taken to the nth degree and then still will believe there is tampering.

Just because He is american does not mean that he has been singled out.The test will be retested again by an independent lab and we will see. Lance dodge a few bullets in his 7 years as the champ even though everyone in a sane state of mind knows that He Barry Bond's twin. For Landis ,for whom I cheered , the future looks bleak.Do you think team Phonak (Ishares) will hire another american though? This absolutely kills me. How can it be? Sample tampering? In the USA we believe innocent until proven guilty. In the rest of the world, it is guilty until proven innocent. There's no way out of this for Floyd. I just hope cycling can survive this fall.

This is so frustrating! Maybe sample tampering who knows. After ridding and racing for the past 40 years, if this is true, I am done with American Cycling, and after working so hard to promote. Cycling seems to be the only sport taking this seriously, look at Baseball & Football, it's a joke!

Well not only is this a disapointment for US citezens but to live in the city he is from too...... this sucks. less then 24 hours ago he was our hero and now his homecoming has been put off because he thaught he could get away with doing steriods in the biggest cycle ride in the world. I wish the best of luck to him and hope all of these scandels are false.

Excuse me but baseball is Americas past time, no matter what the players do itis still BASEBALL that every past present and future US citizen will remember. not bike riding. And football is something that you grow up with watching it every sunday with there family and when they get mature enough they can finally fallow their dreams and grow up to be a super star. I dont know if your familier with the Sports Center "My Wish" foundation but many sports heros such as Tedy Bruschi, Kobe Bryant, and Roger Clemens go and spend time with Young children diagnost with different forms of cancer, i didnt see any snoby bike rider taking a day of "training" to spend time with young dying children......

Again - people how 'bout we hold off on the accusations until all the evidence is revealed. Why so quick to condemn?

i grew in america and i hate baseball... boring sport, but that's me...just because channel 7 says it's americas pastime doesn't literally mean all americans watch it or like it. and if you go by the numbers, attendance atgames is dropping and TV is losing ground as well.

as for snobby bike riders taking time out to ride with the disabled? check on Lance Armstrongs Ride for the Roses that he had and rode since the middle years of his victories and also Tyler Hamilton, who started a foundation to help those challenged by MS and he would go out and ride and talk with the victims. all the time training to ride in the Tour.

you didn't see because you weren't looking, but they're there, just like the football and baseball and hockey and basketball guys.

This drug test does not make any sense. If Floyd Landis took testosterone, it would show up in his system for days before and days after, Not just one day. He has been set up by the French. What a bunch of poor loosers.

yes and i really apretiate Mr. Armstrond for that... i think the reason i dont like biking... IS BECAUSE OF THE FRENCH i absolutly dislike most of them and anything realated to them. im sorry for the misunderstanding i was just really frustrated at the time with the french. AND im a HUGE sports fan... mostly football, baseball can get boring but it is americas past time.
YES GO LANCE LOL

what really fries my bacon is that it makes no sense for a rider toi take testosterone as it bulks up muscle mass... who would want add more mass to their frame knowing that they have 5 HUGE alpine passes to pedal over and every gram counts? that dog don't hunt, quite frankly.

floyd said he would go to endrcinologists and specialists, under UCI & WADA guidelines to get a complete check up. i hope it all works for him... it's not really what we needed right now, after the spanish inquisition and all.

Snoby bike riders? Do you even have any idea how taxing it is to continually ride a BICYCLE for over 100 miles?!!! I am certain that you do not. As for me, I can't think of a worse sport than baseball to represent the U.S. Baseball players are over weight, out-of-shape, slobs who stand around a patch of grass for so many hours on end that it kills the ground beneath their feet. And then on top of that...they use steroids! What the h*!! for? And by the way, have you heard of Lance Armstrong? He has done more for sick and dying children, and adults alike, than you will ever like to admit!

There is not a cyclist alive who rides in the top 20 of this race would chance preformance enhancing drug use and if they did they need there mental state checked .
We are forgeting one thing..
When we say it was a superhuman effort to pull back that time . was it? Really ? No.
It was a great ride yes but due mainly to the fact the peleton didnt react, they and there team management should be tested for marajuana use as it seems they were asleep at the wheel.

Yes test Floyd and yes if he is guilty strip him BUT i believe after testing ANY rider and geting a positive A test WORLD CYCLING owes it to the rider and to all cyclists to keep it quiet until the secong sample is tested.
Releasing results after only 1 test creates what is happenng now RUMOUR, FINGER POINTING AND FLOYD LANDIS'S TIME OF GLORY , HIS HARD EARNED, HARD FOUGHT AND DESERVED WIN.

RIGHT ON! first everyone questions Phonak and all the other teams for letting Periero get away and borrow the jersey then they question Landis for the "superhuman effort" when all that happened was exactly the same thing on 2 different days: NO ONE RESPONDED WELL TO EITHER BREAKAWAY! the only rider paying attention was Sastre!

first, they thought that Periero would never get away and stay away, then they thought that Floyd would not get away and stay away.

everyone complains that cycling lost it's magic, no real heroes, no fantastic rides and then it happens and they complain that it isn't possible, you can't have it both ways, folks.

you're right, Frank Vandenbroucke isn't doing too much these days... and i'm sure they could Johan Musseuw to be DS and enlist the aid of richard Virenque to charm the housewives into looking the other way while cooks his recipe for success in their kitchens? maybe Cedric Vasseur could help out too, ;)
