MnSCU students to march to protest tuition hikes

I'm sure these young fools have thoroughly analyzed the cost structure of their schools, and base their campaign on cold, hard facts!

Next time they support the Union's at the U of M and other universities for their right to a "fair wage" remember it comes along with increased costs for their education :)

The students are correct. Higher education is a right and the public needs to put up more money to make them successful. The burden should be on society as a whole to help out.

Funny No Mention of the Salaries that some of these teachers and coachs are pulling down on the backs of these students! Is Tubby Smith really worth over $1 Million dollars yearly?

You have a right for anything if you can afford it. "The world needs ditch diggers too."

The protesters should be taking a long, thorough look at MNSCU administration costs first and foremost.

Wonder if these were the same students that were protesting to get school workers raises a couple of years ago.

They think tuition is expensive, they should try paying taxes.

Why not freeze tuition for the students and pay for that by cutting the pay of the MnSCU employees, profs, and administrators?

After all, it for the children, right?

I believe MnSCU is a separate entity than the U of M. That may change in the future, but they are different groups right now.

Public college tuition has increased nationally by 7.9% since 2009 according to the College Board's Trends in College Pricing 2010 report.

From what I hear this "march" is set up by student associations. I actually applaud students for taking an interest in and having a passion for their education.

Not to say it will make a difference, but at least they are engaged in the conversation.

If you want to know why colleges are bleeding students and parents to death, go this link and type in "MNSCU". You're supporting another DFL generated voter base with enormously inflated salaries. Because, you know of course, it's all "for the kids".
