What is a "service trip"? Shouldn't that bit of information have been included in this tragic story??

Working for a mission, building a house or well for water, helping the poor. Something of that nature. Tragic.

Please pray for these families. These students were sharing the love of Christ and love the Lord with others less fortunate. Now the students are at home with their Lord and Savior! These students will greatly be missed in the community and this is going to leave a void nobody could fill!!

It matters in that it would help explain why the parents of teenage children allowed their children to leave the country! I don't have an issue with the grieving parents permitting this excursion but it would help clarify the issue if we knew why the kids were there. Isn't that a part of good reporting? Oh wait - this is Channel 10 and facts are not important in a sad story such as this! Just say'n.

My heart is broken for these families and their great loss. These three students have left a positive imprint on many peoples lives at our school. They loved God and it was evident when you spoke with them. They will be greatly missed!

There is no way I would let my teenager travel to another county with a group, our family or otherwise. Too many people disappear. Our government cares, but the other doesn't, it is not their citizen missing. My condolences to the families of these young people.

@No Way... I made this same trip with the same school before. Many people have done it years before and after me. You can't hold your kids back forever out of fear. My heart aches for everyone.

Prayers for the families - nothing else matters here. Sometimes we just need to focus on what is important.

All we need to know is that 3 young teens are dead and their families are grieving their loss and all you want to do is argue. Let's just send out our prayers and thoughts to these family in their time of loss.

My son was one of the two students who made it back to shore safely. My mother's heart is grieving for the family's of the lost children. I don't know why God allowed this to happen, but I know that He is in control. I just pray that I can minister to the kids' families in a way that will comfort them and bring glory to God.

I believe fizzle was replying to gazon's comment, not the story itself. This is a truly sad situation, and my thoughts are with their families and friends.

My kids also went on this same trip in former years. It is an awesome experience of Christian Service. My heart is broken for the families and friends of these kids. Please pray for those still on the trip, this is such a tragedy.

If He is in charge and He is a wonderful God why does HE let these things happen? I do not understand.

To those that lost loved ones, I am sorry for your loss. Those young people were trying to do good deeds and that is an admirable act of kindness and love.

God has a plan and purpose for each of our lives. Sometimes the plan is accomplished at a younger age and sometimes it takes longer. If you woud have known these kids you would understand. They were great Godly leaders in our school. We are not promised tomorrow. Death is not a punishment but a celebration when Christ lives in your heart. These students are in heaven now. We are sad because our hearts and emotions hurt because we loved them so much. God is love.

To anyone who reads this story,
Please pray for not only the children involved in this matter but also for the parents of these children. Every one involved will need our support; and I believe that praying is one of the most powerful actions that folks can take in times like these.

Do a little lateral thinking today and it will work wonders. Don't feel hidebound because you're supposed to do things in a certain way, because this is a great opportunity to try a different approach for a change. Even so, you may have to play down your unorthodox technique when talking to anyone who sticks rigidly to convention.
