What a tragedy, especially for the brother who was driving. And yet we know that God uses all things for good. I will be praying for the Chapmans.

This is so tragic. My heart and prayers go out to the Chapman family. I love his Steven's music, and "Cinderella" has become my new favorite song since I'm graduating from high school...I've often said that it is the best father-daughter song written..it just grabs at my heart's strings..I can only imagine what theyre feeling and experiencing right now, and that beautiful song that was written for his beautiful girls, sadly will probably become a reminder of the pain for some time.
-Chapman family, I am so sorry...God be with you in this horrible time.

This is so sad, and I am moved beyond words, I love his music, and I loved hearing about his children,(through web site). I pray that our Good Lord watches over you, My family will keep you in our prayers.
We know we will one day be together again. Mary, my blessed Mother, please comfort them during this hour of need.

I've heard of this singer but don't know much about him...my heart goes out to him and his family, especially the son who was driving. May he find peace and may God ease the overwhelming burden of guilt he must be feeling now. Hopefully he'll come to realize that sometimes tragedies happen to the best of people and it's not his fault. I hope this family knows that so many people, no matter what religion or if any, are holding them in our thoughts/prayers.

Please do not use the death of a child to advance a political agenda. If there were no SUVs, my husband and I would have a hard time getting to the hospital to take care of sick people with 24 inches of snow on the ground.
I will pray for this family, especially the young man who was driving. The grief of losing a daughter and sister is unimaginable.

1. I think the deceased can stake claim to the "bigger" tragedy.
2. So God uses random vehicular manslaughter as a means to create good? This is a horrible accident, nothing more. Please don't tell me God thought, "Hmmm, I have big plans for this young man, but his quest may only begin once he runs over this innocent young girl." I hope it doesn't work that way.

My sincerest condolences to the family. They seem to be a generous, loving family.

No, what I meant is that God can use even the greatest pain for good. If He couldn't, then He would hardly be God, would He?

I feel most sorry for the brother who was driving the SUV. Even though it was an accident, that's the kind of thing that plagues you emotionally for life.

My thoughts and prayers go out for the little girl, her brother and the family. The kind of pain they are going through right now is unimaginable. I will pray for God to be with you all and ease your pain.

I so agree. We were never promised a painless life. Yet through tragedy, surprising selflessness arises. When I read the stories coming out of China - the unspeakable acts of kindnes, the miracles, the selfless sacrifices - I see God's Grace.
We grieve with Chapman family, but can know that they will have peace.

How do you know they weren't kind to each other before this happened? I give of myself all the time, I don't need God to smite everyone around me to be nice. I guess God kills people to warm your heart. What a nice guy.
