Elmer Turner is charged with fatally shooting Richard Boyes Tuesday night near Fort Gay.

I am deeply saddened by this tragic event that has so effected so many people. How can you "accidently shoot someone in the head" If it was an accident why would he of not called the ambulance right away in hopes to save his life instead of his body laying for hours in wait for someone to find. Hopefully justice will be served even though it will never bring back what matters the most. Richard Boyes leaves behind so many friends, family and 3 children. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends, he will be so greatly missed. You, Richard will always be in our thoughts and our hearts. Til we meet again!

I have known the turner family for years, they are good people not perfect in any way. I have known the Boyes family for years good people, not perfect in any way. Who was there to say what happened? Were you? I was not, thats why I cannot pass judgement on either party. Why do so many of you try? Elmer Turner was a man who took care of his family he never ask any one eles to do it for him, they were not suppoted by any state assistance they all worked and made their way. Richard Boyes known around town as a person who would take what ever if your back was turned did not support his wife or children and left them to move in with his parents because he choose to not work and help his wife raise their childern. Both men known in the area--yes. Was one better than the other? No not in the eyes of God but you people out there sure like to try to make one better than the other. Is just one family affected? No. Does one family hurt worse than the other? I dont think so there are broken hearts on both sides. Just becareful who you judge because you may be the next one in this type of situation. My prayers go to both families I knew them all.

elmer was a very good man as for richie all i know is wat i have heard but i know elmer and i know he is not the kind of guy to just kill somebody i know both families are heart broken and i will pray for them but dont start puttin elmer down wen u wasnt there to know wat happened nobody was on the news they said that elmer said he couldnt remember and i believe that cause i dont know how many times i have had to jog his memory of the night b4 for him to remember and if he says it was an accident it was i cried wen i found out he was goin to jail he is a good man

well then why didnt he call 911 because the news also said he rembers he was holding the gun when he can to but did he no he was a coward he went home an sleep off his drunkness an left a good man dead in the rain an cold so no i dont think elmer is a good person an i hope he gets lots of prison time for the crime he did he didnt have any small kids to raise his is grown but not richies

maybe he was scared to call 911 hell i was scared to call 911 wen i got hit by a guy on a bike i could understand bein scared to call 911 if u accidently shot somebody and if he did it intentionaly i hate to say it but im sure the guy deserved it i dont know the guy like i said b4 and i do feel bad for his family and friends but i know elmer is a good man and would never hurt somebody for no reason at least not on purpose but maybe he did have a reason who knows not me or anybody else cause nobody was there

To all of you slammin Richard you need to stop it now!!!!! HE would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it! He and his family DO NOT deserve this. Yes Richard drank, but that is no reason for Elmer to shoot him in the head. Elmer can sit in prison and still see his family, but we can never see Richard again thanks to Elmer! And by the way I am Richards sister in law!

I think that it is really sad that some of you all would talk bad about a man who was killed and is no longer here to defend himself.. I never knew the man I might if I seen him.. I have seen and talked to Elmer a time or two.. I just think that it is an awful thing for people to get on here and talk about two men that neither one can defend their own self.. One was killed rather it was a accident or not he is still no longer here.. Then Elmer I am sure he is probably going crazy now that he has realized what happened.. These men were friends for years and it just shows that nothing good comes from drinking .. I feel sorry for both families.. The families are innocent they didn't have anything to do with it.. The man who was killed I never knew but yes it brakes my heart hearing that he has small children who no longer have him rather he lived with them or not he was still a dad and Elmer it kids might be grown but he was a dad too.. He also has 2 little grand babies who adored him.. All around both families lost a dad, a uncle, a brother, a grand pa, a friend.. God Bless both families and think before you go talking about people who can't even defend there self because noone knows what truely happened that night..

you guy's and gal's should be ashamed of yourself. they both was perfect people in god eyes. like you people i can't say anything about either person, and i can,t be leave what i,am ready, i don't see how any body can say who is in fault. i be leave that they should have been at home where they belong. S o who to say who's at fault nobody was their but them.

i've heard a lot of ppl say they knew elmer and he was a good man. i never knew knew elmer but i'm sure he probably was a good man but ppl do stupid things when they are drinking. they are not thinking clearly. that's why most ppl drink, they don't want to think clearly b/c most want to forget. i'm not saying that's the case that night. i think they were just wanting to have fun. maybe the next time elmer wants to have fun (since richard won't have another chance) let's hope he chooses something that doesn't hinder his decision making. no i don't believe it was an accident b/c it appears more like he hit his target. is it a coincidence after someone gets into an argument that they "accidentally" shoot someone in the head? i don't think so. impaired decision making? definitely. i hope everyone learns a lesson from this tragic incident but ppl who drink tend to think "it won't happen to me". wake up ppl! i doubt richard woke up that morning and thought "tonight i think i'll go have a few beers with elmer, get into an argument with him so he'll shoot me in the head".

ok, I get on here to read up on how the whole ordeal is goin to to see if anything has been posted as to the well-being of Elmer's grandbabies (whom loved him deeply).He was a kind hearted man, a sweet man, a man with his own opinion, a man with Love for children, and a man whom like to have adult time By drinking a beer @ his place, not out in the bars or driving on our roads, BUT Never a cold blooded Killer! If in fact he did shoot this man in the Heat of a disagreement why? NOT run? Nope he went home to bed NOT remembering what happen until the following day and at that time He Owed Up to his Mistake. I wasnt getting smart with you, i guess i am just tired of all of these blogs slammin my brother in law and putting elmer on a peddle stool. No one really knows what happened that faitfull night and we probably never will. All i know is that my family is all torn up over the whole thing, and thats why i am so defensive about it all.
