Washington County CYS is a joke, they do what they want when they want and no one can stop them, I don't even think Judge Mascara will go against them. I think the caseworkers and the attorney for the children have something going on because the attorney for the children don't want to listen either and he/she should be supporting the children NOT cys. Even if you do find a attorney to represent you, they won't really fight for your rights either, just take your money. I know there is a particular caseworker there and she is a real piece of work, young and thinks she owns the world. Her supervisor won't even go against her. Sad, really sad.

Are you from Blair County? I had a foster child that was sent to a group home in Tyrone, and then Mar 14, 07 assaulted someone and is now in a detention home in Altoona. I have been in his life for 2 years and I do care about him alot, but I do also know that he needs more help and care than I can give him. He is considered a juvenile delinquent now and since I have decided that there is no way that I can give him permanecy, CYS of Blair County is treating me as if they are punishing me for it. I thought it was what is best for the child. I want to have contact with him, and I can not just stop caring about him. I can not and will not AT THIS TIME bring him back into my home, because he does need to get things under control. I have hopes that I will some day again get to get him back. So I feel for you, and I hope that you get your kids back, but CYS of Blair County PA will run you in so many circles that you will feel like a circus animal. Good Luck

what if your the parent and you know you have done wrong don't you ever get a second chance cys says no to late your already guilty to bad no matter what you do will never get your children back and then let anyone who takes care of them do the exact same things you are wrong for

my children were taking 5 years ago at the time ages 3and 6 now they are 8 and 11 they were taking becuz of home not being cleaning ,trauncy issue with the older child,and that all leads to neglect i was in jail when they went in to my home and my mother was taking care of them in her home when i was released i was told that i was not aloud with my children til i got it cleaned so i did they came to inspect said everything was good expect my laundry which were i lived didn't aloud washer or dryers you had to pay to do your laundry which with me just getting out of jail i had no income but they left the children come home anyway and told me get your laundry done so i got a free washer gave to me decide to use it even though i knew i could get in trouble but it was my only means of getting it done and i didn't want to lose my children so i sent my children with my mom and pulled it out to do cys showed up on a weekend and took pictures of it set a court day and took my children told me my mom was going to be getting them got to cys and they got a phone call saying my mom house wasn't suitable so instead of checking it out they just put my children in foster care and told me why they were doing the paper work i know how you feel i have cats and if someone took them i'd be upset to why they complete ingored my children who were tring to hide and cring so noone will ever convince me that they care about the children i admit i did wrong i want them back but if not i want them to at least be with my mom who loves them just as much as i do and didn't make the same mistakes i have

yes all of my children have seperate fathers and you what i have raised each and everyone of them on my own working three jobs at a time to support them..dead beat dads......yes you could say that but i'm not the partying kind and i've always put them first in my life whether or not their dads were...my ex-husband left because he couldn't handle the responsilbilty my oldest...his father left way before i even had him because he wasn't ready to be a father but never the less i have always did my part in raising my children on my own..it wasn't ever for tax write offs or anything of the sort...and i am still looking out for THEIR best interest there was NEVER a reason for cys to caome and take my children from me!!!!!!!

My family has also had trouble with cys and I have started a site called crooked justice.com , I am going to do something about this misjustice. We need to unite and take the message to the people who control their money. With out funds and money this problem can not exsist. We neet to change how cases are handled and who can work for CYS. This problem is nation wide but from my research Pennsylvania is the worst by 500%. Plese join hands and stop this injustice!!

prayingforamiracle, Why pick men who aren't ready to be fathers. Your mistake. I'm sure your kids see alot of you with working 3 jobs. You have denied your children a father and a mother because of your choices. After the first child you should have known better. Quit having children till you are in a solid relationship and have the income to do so. CYS did not pick your name out of a phone book or see you shopping at Walmart and decide to take your children. They have too many reports of child abuse to invest their time in unfounded claims. Do they do the best job possable? NO but neither do you

If you have really changed and not for a couple days or weeks, then you can go to courts for the return of your children. If your mother is willing to care for your children why don't you move into a place together and combine your incomes to be able to afford to get your laundry done.If you can't afford to have clean clothes for your children what else are they going without.

Judge Mascara is one of the good Judges he knows the cases that are before him. He also ask his own Questions. I have heard him even question CYS on their handeling of cases. He not only uses the law with his decisions but also good old common sense. I believe he only has the best interest of the true victims in these cases . THE CHILDREN. He tries very hard to get across to these parents why their children are in their current situation. If you want to see a bad Judge check out Judge Emery.

What was a 2 year old who was doing the cruising thing doing close enough to a lite candle. Are you blaming her for not pulling her hand back fast enough. She would have not held her hand over a candle natural instinct would have had her pull it away.If she held it there then she should be check out for a medical condition. I,m sure there is alot more to this story. CYS does not take your child because you made a stupid mistake of having a lite candle where 2 yr old could get burnt.

hi i am grandma of two boys that i love so much. there mother she dose not clean the house at all the kids are always sick. i have clean that house over and over and her family just comes in and misses it up food all over the floor not mold in the bathroom. she dose net even try to clean. i have called cys to get help what a joke. the aspca would take a dog out of there. i want help before something happen to those kids. please some help me

I am currently working though Washington County CYS system. My ex has had them called on many times and they have done little or nothings. Now they want us to sit down for what I call a Kumbya session so that we can air our diffrences between my ex and I with family support. What does beating a child and leaving children unattened while one goes out to the bar have to do with this?

Washington court system is broke and needs repaired really bad the judges are as corrupt as the police are no one wanted to hear the truth and all papers proving this were ignored like they didnt even exists.

Judge Mascara really does not care, he acts like he does but won't even listen to the parents side, only the case worker. The case worker( of a friend I have) is a young girl, who really does not care, just wants to make a name for herself.

I think u are exactly right and I thank you for posting this. There are a great deal of flaws in the CYS system in every county but if people didn't abuse their children we wouldn't have them. Nobody is perfect and everybody makes mistakes but the ones that continue the abuse (repeat offenders) should not have children at all. They are normally the ones that complain.

i am not from washington county i am from westmoreland but i am looking for some help if anyone can help...My kids were taken off of my because my son fell off my bed and broke his leg, they are trying to take them completely off of me and make it so i can never have kids ever again... Now i could see if my kids were abused or hurt multiple times before but they were NEVER in the hospital for anything prior to this. I can understand a neglect charge cause i know i shouldn't have placed my baby on the bed but what they are trying to do to me is ridiculous. My lawyer wanted me to agree to the charges of neglect and abuse by neglect which makes no sense. I DIDN'T ABUSE MY SON. I am so afraid right now of losing my babies, and they want me to take a psych evaluation, of course i wouldn't pass, i am going crazy right now because of all of the crap they are putting me through. You should have seen the bruises left on my daughters arm from the testing that they deemed necessary to do to make sure she wasn't being abused. AND FUNNY THING IS SHE WASN'T. I am sorry but CYS doesn't do their jobs, i see kids running the streets of New Kensington and Arnold without parents and only 20 months of age, they have been called but those idiots still have their kids. So they want to take mine because i left mine on the bed for less than 10 minutes but those kids are left on the streets for longer periods and they get theirs back all because nothing bad has happened yet, what are they gonna wait for someone to hit them with a car?

i made a mistake and i am getting hell for it, this is the first mistake with my children i have ever made. Childrens Hospital made a mistake twice with my child and his broken leg, i had to take him to the hospital 3 times until it was finally taken care of properly, and they get nothing. I might lose my babies over a fall off of a bed and you are saying that cys is good? Good for when they actually do their job maybe, but those are rare occasions.
