I know of a family with eight kids, two are grown and gone that get fuel assistance and food stamps.Based on the income of this family they qualify, but here is the clencher; they live in a newer 5-6 bedroom,4 bathroom house,12 foot ceilings, two dining areas, a large master jacuzzi suite, fireplace, and manicured sodded lawn with acreage. The home looks like a model home! The father has a full tiem job but the mother stays home with no desire to earn extra income to help out. Why do counties not consider asset when giving then a hand out? Here's the funny thing, this mother is teaching a class on Urban Studies [ as a volunteer]with the topic of poverty in one of the classes and I think will tell the sutdents that she is the face of poverty! I would appreciate others comments on this.

One thing is for sure, this country rewards laziness. The hard working people who struggle, when things get bad, to keep above water, are the ones who pay. Then there is the class that are capable but know that they can get by minimally with government hand-out. They have no ambition to do better. They are controlled. This sounds like a couple who have paid into the system for years and are manipulating it to get something back. I don't agree with their actions but on the other hand, I understand being frustrated with a system that takes from the ones that are trying to live right in order to pay the lazy for doing nothing.I have no problem supporting those in need but so many have learned how to manipulate this system, nothing surprises me anymore. It's sad..

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Libra

Get out and about whenever possible today. You're feeling energized and will want to keep active at every opportunity. Leave the car at home if you can and walk to your destination instead, or have a brisk walk in your lunch-hour. It will be even better if you can take a brief holiday from your usual routine and find some different surroundings for a change.
