Family shut up lol...seriously the man turned around and started to aim at the officer. The people at fair oaks told the cops that he had a gun, so yes he had a gun and he was going to try and shoot the officer. You put yourself in his position, and someone might kill you or endanger your life? What are you going to do, no matter what color you are or they are. Stop bringing this race shit up, not a valid point you were trying to make. You know what a valid point is...that Fair Oaks is a run down apartment complex that is over ran by blacks. So, my argument is...Why do black people come down from Chicago or where-ever and bring drugs and crime into the area? With that happening, things like this is going to happen, its a fact..

I am live in danville so I know...I dont think you do...

Wow...lol so lets get completely off the subject huh and talk about Iraq? Haha, your so sheltered about this situation over here that you sound stupid when you talk. First of all you should support the troops no matter what, even if you dont care for Bush, and the American people do rally behind the troops over here and support us, but with a country of our size..you are always goin to have people like you. I may or may not support the situation over here, but I will do what I went under oath to do, and thats to follow the orders of the President regarless of what I think its my duty...but you dont understand that, you dont understand what military people go through everyday to sacrafice many things to protect you. Its whatever, you think how you want, but your thinking of the military and sadley mistaken.

I really gotta agree with you Brad. Hey, man, I just want to tell you that I really appreciate what you are doing over there in Iraq... my brother he's over there as we speak and I just have so much pride and respect for all of you.

Hey, I'm black. I love my own race, but I've got to say this is getting way too ridiculous. People, let's look beyond color for just once in our lives. Let us put ourselves in the shoes of the police officer. Hey Family, wake up will you? Police have shot white kids for aiming squirt guns at them... a cell phone can easily be mistaken for a gun, and WTF did this guy turn around with his cell phone pointing at the officer? Any of us could have made a mistaken identity in the stress of the situation.

And as for you, Thomisha, STF up... don't ever diss a Marine or soldier when they are protecting your right to participate in this discussion a'ight?

ThoMISHA, first of all your from the mean streets of danville, and let me tell you its real gangster in Danville, all that crime that happens in Fair Oaks.

And for furture reference, and tell any of your people, not to pull out a cell phone in a situation like that, because I would act accordingly just like the officer did, its ethier my life or his

As I mentioned before no one knows the time nor the hour when their life will be called to rest. For everyone that did not know my brother please stop making judgements. Everyone is quick to go off of what the police officer has to say, but who knows if it is the truth. Honestly, only 20 % of what you hear is the truth and the other 80 % is speculations to what you think is the truth. If you read your bible it states thou shalt not kill. Therefore, when that time comes it will be GOD and officer Troy Wasson that will have that discussion on taking a life. All the anger and hatered need to stop because were all the same on the inside but different colors on the outside. I find it difficult to digest that you beleive your color brings you a higher set in society. Black or white we all will be judge the same by GOD (according to your works). My mind is at peace because I know that my brother soul is in heaven. Therefore, I ask if God call you today, where will your soul go? I am giving clear illustrations because people are so quick to judge others or jump on the wagon, when their house is not in order. Please stop picking the fog out of my brothers eyes and take a deeper look within yourself.
I refuse to call names or use racial terminology for several of reasons: 1. my parents raised me better than that 2. I'm not into making someone else look bad in order for me to look good. 3. I refuse to judge anyone because I to will be judged on that special day.
FYI we never lived in the projects and he was not a gang banger.

May GOD Bless
Rest in Peace your sister

Mary Mitchell
Boy's shooting, Jon Burge -- no wonder blacks are fed up
August 10, 2006
BY MARY MITCHELL SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST
What is it going to take before the Chicago Police Department realizes that a lot of black people are fed up? And when will the aldermen open their eyes and see that many of their constituents are sitting on a powder keg? This is true not just because a 14-year-old boy from Cabrini-Green was critically injured when he allegedly pointed a replica of a 9mm Smith & Wesson at officers.
But because too many people are complaining about being mistreated by police officers.
People will argue amongst themselves about whether the Cabrini-Green teen brought the shooting on himself since BB guns are illegal in Illinois.
Some of them will blame the boy's parents for not knowing he had the fake gun. Others will blame the cops for shooting first and asking questions later, even though police have been killed by gun-toting teens.
Unfortunately, a lot of black people are more willing to believe that a white cop would shoot an unarmed black kid than they are willing to listen to the cop's side of the story.
There is a good reason for black people not to trust the cops.
Even people who have never had a run-in with police know there is something terribly wrong when hundreds of black suspects are tortured into giving false confessions, and the man primarily responsible for those tortures is rewarded with a fat pension and time to spend cruising in a boat called "Vigilante."
Even people who have never seen the inside of a jail and couldn't care less when drug dealers and gang-bangers are locked up know that something ought to have been done about Jon Burge and his posse.
Because the city did nothing to stop this racist cop back then, and because the law says it's too late to do anything about him now -- we shouldn't be surprised that a growing number of citizens in black communities are complaining.
A reader called me a week ago about a scene she witnessed at 15th & Homan on the West Side, where a squad car was involved in an auto accident.
"The people ran out of their houses, and one guy got the policeman out of the car. It was amazing to see how people pulled together," the reader said.

"Other squad cars showed up and the street was taped off. A female officer told me if I didn't get away from my car, I was going to be arrested. The way they treated those people was so rude. These were the same people that got the cop out of his car. Instead of being rude, they really needed to give those people a block party."
Besides the protest over the shooting in Cabrini-Green on Tuesday, a group of West Side ministers held a news conference outside of police headquarters to protest alleged police misconduct during a drug sting in the Austin neighborhood.
When plainclothes police officers approached a house to question its occupants, allegedly a juvenile wielding an ax struck an officer. The boy's father allegedly sicced a Rottweiler on another officer, who fatally shot the dog.
The fact that only the dog was shot speaks to the restraint these police officers showed.
But residents in the neighborhood complained later that other police officers who came to the scene made racist remarks to people in the crowd.
At least two people have filed formal complaints with the Office of Professional Standards.
Obviously, this must have been a stressful situation for police. But aren't police supposed to be professionals?
Yelling, I understand. But what excuse can they have for making racist remarks?
Monique Bond, spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department, told me the entire incident is under internal investigation.
But these investigations take too long and rarely turn up anything conclusive.
Meanwhile, these same racially insensitive cops are left on the streets to spread more ill will.
We are running out of time to get it right.
My fear is that one day, it won't matter whether the police were justified in using deadly force, because no matter what the police brass says, citizens aren't going to believe them.
My fear is that because the city has failed at disciplining cops who use foul and racist language, other cops -- good cops -- catch the brunt of the community's anger.
On Friday, Chicago Police Supt. Phil Cline and First Deputy Dana Starks will meet with community leaders in Cabrini-Green in an effort to keep the dialogue open.
Capt. Tina Skahill, assistant deputy superintendent who oversees the CAPS project, said the department's efforts in this regard have been ongoing.
"The strategy is about strengthening and cementing the police department and the community -- not just when there is trouble," she said.
That just goes to show you how much more needs to be done

Hello I didn't keep up with this to much but I will say the cops in danville (some) are full of shit and they know it.they are crooked like some criminals. alot of people know this for a fact. I ticks me off the most when a cop commits a crime they seem to always get away with murder. just cause they have a badge.their no different from the public their human as any body else. if it was us we'd be sitting in prison. and why do the cops think they are hated so bad?? the system needs to change.that officer could have if he was as good as they say, shot him in the leg to take him down but no I think possible this is another hate crime.
a white cop didn't like blacks. yes I'm white I not sticking up for any body but come on get real this hating some one over color has to stop. also be fore I close DCFS is as fault for the crime here besides the police. they say you cant correct your children like in the past(not beating them) so where does that leave the kids today they rule the streets do and sale drugs etc.and the cops wont do any thing or the judges let them keep walking.this place is so messed up.I just want to say God Bless every body and one day I hope to see danville a better place to live.
