The Lord has given Pastor Bill a new vision for CHBC. The vision is focus on missions and evangelizing the local community. The financial resources that the Lord has provided will be focus on this instead of a building program. However, there will be improvements made to the current facility such as expanding parking and we have recently upgraded the nursery area with all new furniture, carpet, paint. A few weeks ago we had attendance of over 1,000. The average is around 700.
It never ceases to amaze me at how GOD always takes situations that satan wants to use as a weapon against GOD's people, no matter where they are located, and uses it for HIS glory. What satan means for evil GOD will use for HIS glorification. The situation at CHBC initially may not have been seen as a positive one, but again, GOD has re-directed the church for HIS purpose and HIS glory. No weapon formed against GOD's children will ever prosper. I know throughout this process, those who have sought GOD's guidance, wisdom and discernment have heard from HIM and are pressing on toward the mark. What an encouragement to know that the church, the Bride of Christ, those who live in Tennesse and those who live in Georgia, are all a part of the body of Christ and functioning the way GOD intended it. I've said all along... we all have to keep the "main thing" the MAIN THING. If we keep our eyes and hearts "vertical", looking to JESUS to guide and direct we will one day hear "well done thou good and faithful servant". When we take our eyes of GOD, stop looking vertical and focus on our horizontal, we get into major trouble. I pray CHBC will keep pressing on as we at SBC are doing. When it's all said and done the ONLY thing that will matter is what each of us individually has done with JESUS and HIS sacrifice on the cross. I pray GOD's blessings on CHBC, SBC and all houses of worship who preach the soon coming KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS!

"A new vision..." I wonder what would prompt God to change His vision for His people. Could be the personality in the pulpit, the obedience/disobedience of the people, etc. I'm sure if God changed the vision during the transition, He already knows what the response of the people will be and what His response will be. Thinking out loud here, you would think that if God changed HIS vision every time a major transition happened to a church then the people of the that church would have to be thinking "where is the confidence in what we once accepted as what GOD wanted for our church?" I don't believe that God's vision for a church is based on the personality in the pulpit. I believe He directs the people of the church in revealing His vision for that people and leads the man to the pulpit that will either submit to His vision or develop one of his own.

It is said that evil is done in the dark, hiding behid screen names is the about the same thing. If one is not willing to put their name on the line they should keep quiet. Pastor Jeff is my Pastor, he does not need me or any memeber of Second Baptist of Warner Robins to defend him.

Larry gilmore was a wonderful pastor, I attended College Heights for approx 13 years and Pastor Gilmore was a real man of god, When anyone was sick or in trouble, here come pastor Larry, Laborg was a very evil person, there is no time on this earth that he could make up for the pain and tears he created, I feel very sorry for his family.

souunds like most of the church was with pastor jeff.but you had those few that was afraid control was getting away from like this layman guy but i would like to thank the few because of them we hav a pastor at second baptist that will stand on the word of god and preach bodly it allways happens when a move of god comes through and a church grows a few go crazy cause they lose control if i was them i would not worry about control but worry about there soul
AMEN! As a 20 year old believer, i have never in my life been so excited about church. I joined second a few months ago and it has the best experience of my life. I recently left a church that bickered much over false allegations. We actually had pedophiles working with our children, the pastor preached with wrinkles in his suit that was 4 sizes too small as if he didn't care he was a representation of the Lord, and the doors were only open sunday mornings and wednesday nights, no extra worships, revivals or night services. It's a shame that the devil is working right here in Warner Robins in such a powerful way, but each sunday i see more and more join from my past church, and it's because the word jeff tells is to the point and factual, and Lucifer looses his bound on our congregation each and every service. He oftens says that the majority of students who go off to college leave the southern baptist church and will never come back, but last year, i would have you know i drove every sunday 2 hours from statesboro to hear what he had to say despite high gas prices, and i know many others who did the same. I've seen no thrown shoes, no name calling, no closing of ministries, just a growing church with open doors and excitement! as aforementioned by another user, just let it be, in the end God will settle this battle. I hate knowing that so many are going to church on sundays fighting this in their hearts. it clearly leaves no room for the Lord to do his work. Please know i am praying for each and every one of you in this board. I'm probably the youngest one here, but i feel as though this is quite petty to continue. as I said, just let go and let God... put your troubles behind and leave it to the master...

Don't tell me GOD isn't up to something in Middle Georgia. Finally, after 16 years one of the most embarrasing blights on our community has shut down. No longer will we have to tell folks coming down I-75 to get off the exit at Cafe Erotica and turn left to head into Warner Robins. They will be bulldozing the place within a month. PRAISE GOD!!! GOD hears the prayers of HIS people and to whom much is given, much is required. Whatever the cost, revival is being prayed for in Warner Robins. Yes, something is happening in Middle Georgia. It is starting with the closing of a strip club...from there it will be thrilling to see where GOD takes this community. Don't come to Second Baptist if your not serious about getting busy for the Kingdom. If you want status quo world view of Christianity, go somewhere else. But if you want to hear from GOD, don't miss a service. This is the greatest time in all of humanity to be alive and living for JESUS.

That LAYMAN guy Louie Johnston is a joke. Don't even compare him to Pastor Jeff LaBorg. Louie was and is a liar and a theif and was exposed and in jail many times. That book that he has up for sale on his website was never even published. You can't get a copy because it doesn't exist!
We miss Pastor Jeff and his family. The man was annointed, but he made a few mistakes. But WHO let him? The Pastorial Council. NOT ONE MAN could have done what they said.
I don't know of many Pastor's that get a brand new Maxima given to them on their first anniversary of being Pastor at a church, but he did. HOW people will turn on you so fast!

Alma, dear I will pray for you. Because you have LOST your ever loving mind! If Gilmore was so great why did the congregation drop to 300? If Pastor Jeff was so evil how is it that he brought 1200 to CHBC and is now a Pastor of a church of over 1600.

Because Pastor Jeff LaBorg is a bigger man than Gilmore will ever be! I was hoping that he would tell ALL on Gilmore but he didn't! That is because he is not a smear monger like Gilmore and every thing that you have said is true! ONE man could not have closed a church & it could have been salvaged had Gilmore not gone on his revenge rampage. I would not want to be him when I stand before Christ. I think it was ALL out of jealousy because Pastor Jeff was and is annointed and Gilmore was not! It was all about envy.

I am not going to write anything bad or negative. I will just generalize and strongly encourage people to read an online article entitled "Narcissism in the Pulpit". Type it into your search engine. Narcissists are created through years of abuse and neglect in their childhood. Narcissists are sadistic in that they will use any tactic to gain power and publicly humiliate others. Narcissists put on an incredible show for their own glory. They have the power to read people and entrance them under a powerful psychological spell. They usually have a drug or alcohol history. Narcissists are not the bodybuilding egoists that most people associate them with. Read the article and see how many of the signs you see. When a preacher consistently preaches a message with undertones of "I am right, you are wrong, leave now", you might be listening to a narcissist. When a preacher takes away the voting rights of the members, you might be dealing with a narcissist. When a preacher demands, denigrates, and publicly humiliates others, you might be dealing with a narcissist. When a preacher hides in a cave and blames others for his problems, you might be dealing with a narcissist. Please go to the online article. For more information on Narcissism, read "Malignant Self-Love" by Dr. Sam Vaknin. You can type that into your search engine as well.

Curious, how many gave judgement on the last post without actually going to the online article and reading it? Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a diagnosable disorder under the DSM-IV. The top three professions of someone with NPD are the following: Law enforcement, Ministry, and Entertainment (sports, movies, music). No one walks around with the label NPD on their shirt. Unless you are willing to do the research and make the connections, don't be so quick to judge.

scott e. weeks, i don't know you. i can't imagine why you would take my post personally aimed at you? unless you are a pastor of a church and NPD, i am not sure how my post relates to you. this particular message board is specific to a former pastor at a church i was a member of. you are not that former pastor. i am confused, so please explain. it is not my intention at all to be mean, only informative about a problem going on in our churches. people need to stay informed and educated when choosing a leader to follow.
