Investigators Bust Puppy Mill In Westmoreland

I have bought several dogs from Laura Ghazi and i have never had any problems. I have had champion bloodlines and have always received papers from Laura. She takes very good care of her animals and gives them lotsof love attention and works with them everyday. So lets be adults and not put people down on interenet and call and try and ask for your papers and stuff before putting people down. I would refer her to anybody and if you thought that way why did you buy a dog in the first place, because if you would have felt she was a puppy mill you would have never bought!

R. Downey/Edward/A.Rooney/Andrew Rooney....whoever you may be, you are obviously an imposter, so who would ever be able to believe anything you are saying. All the posts by this fellow are rambling on and on about this breeder. He lists his address as Honolulu, HI....this breeder is in Tennessee. I realise that a puppy can be sent to Hiwaii, but I also know it must sit for months in quarantine before the owner can pick it up.....maybe that explains the ear infection he is so upset about. I think it is cruel of R.Downey/Edward/A.Rooney/Andre w Rooney to have purchased a puppy only to leave it in quarantine for so long.....Maybe it is the buyer who should be prosecuted!!! By the way, isn't Andrew Rooney the old guy on 60 minutes?!?!?

I bought the dog because it was in need of rescue.
The dog was an obvious victim of neglect and emotional abuse. I saved the dog's life and spent a lot of money doing it!

As to asking her for papers- she does not have AKC papers. She had AKC papers in January of 2007. She lost that privelege for 10 years in September of 2007 when she refused to allow AKC inspectors to see her papers or see her dogs!
You are obviously a friend of relative of the Ghazi's or possibly an accomplice.

They have gained registry with the ACA and another dubious dog registry used by puppy mills to appear legit. Look up the requirements for registry with the ACA. It's a joke!!
Most people don't know the difference between the AKC and the ACA. The Tennesee State attorney general's office knows the difference as does the Better Business Bureau of Middlle Tennessee and all the local network TV and newspapers.

Your attempts to protect the Ghazi kennel is fruitless. It is just a matter of time before they are exposed to the world by the media. Keep watching the 5:00 news in middle Tennesee.

Im not by any means a family member but five years ago i did buy Akc Bichons and i did receive my papers and my puppies have been very healthy and no problems. All iam saying is Laura has always been friendly to me and to has taken care of her pets from all that ive known and seen. I hate that you have had this bad experience but at least try and call her im sure shed help you out. Im a person that tries to be and think on th epositive side....

I bought 2 dogs from laura ghazi.My dogs were healthy and very social. You state that just because someone is happy with the healthy dog they received from the Ghazi's doesnt mean that they are not guilty of animal abuse/neglect. . Just because you bought a dirty bichon with an ear infection..doesnt mean she abuses her animals. Goodness what a leap. I would suggest you get a life.

The lady said she bought the dog in October of 2007 and was promised that AKC registry papers were forthcoming, yet we all know that Laura had her AKC privleges suspended Sept. 10, 2007- click on the link and scroll to page 2 of the AKC website and see for yourself.

I have other witnesses (people who have done business with the Ghazi's) that will come forward to testify to corroborate my accusations.

Laura said her van burned up with all her AKC papers- how convenient! Even if the story was true, her plans to issue those AKC papers would constitute fraud as she lost her priveleges Sept 10, 2007.

You and your confederates are not helping Laura's case one bit with your ill-advised excuses. You keep digging her hole a little deeper.

Why would she promise someone that she would send AKC papers after her registry had expired? Should we add fraud to the list of charges pending against her. As to your claim that her van was destroyed in a fire Christmas morning, I will conduct due diligence to verify that. Surely there is a public record of the event. Will she testify under oath that her van was completely destroyed by fire along with her AKC papers on Christmas morning 2007, if called upon to do so?

Puppy mills are all to common in this region and USDA inspections entirely too rare. Have no doubt this woman was running a puppy mill and hope she is finally outed. Thanks to "Concerned"

Yes, I do horse and dog rescue and have for many years.

Get a life.....Grow up..if i were the breeder Laura Ghazi i would be taking you to court for slander and alot of other things! Let the upper hand take care of it and i can assure you they will see that her animals are taken care of and fed and are loved by her children. I could see if your dog had a heart condition or something serious but an ear infection, come on. You must be a breeder as well because if you wanted an animal to love and rescue you wouldnt worry about papers unless you were gonna breed! Myself, i love my animal no matter what kinda papers or if any. And if i were ACA i would as well get you for slander...

I have been reading the posts on this subject and have a comment on what is possibly the cause of the confusion about the registration paperwork.
I am a long time lover and breeder of Yorkie puppies. This is what happens when a person is looking for a new puppy. They are usually very excited and talk to hundreds of breeders. They may hear the words "registration papers" or "paperwork" "ACA papers" "APRI papers" (anything that begins with an "A" papers) and they automatically think "AKC papers". What they hear is different from what registers in their brain. Either this, or they loose track of what each breeder told them and associate what one breeder said with what they think another breeder said. It happens all the time to me and other breeders in my association. Does this customer have anything other than her memory of the statement that AKC papers were forthcoming? I would hate to think that I had ruined someones breeding program based on a human memory that is prone to mistakes.

The most effective measure to stop puppy mill operators is to not buy puppies from them.
To "Concerned" I say "Shame on You!". Did you do your research before you bought this puppy?
You should at the very least have asked questions of the breeder about the puppy's health and the health of the parents, you should have visited with the breeder, you should have met the parents of the puppy, you should have spoken with the breeder's vet, you should have asked for references, you should have visited with the puppy in his environment and evaluated him against other puppies of his litter.
My guess is that you saw an ad in the local paper for a puppy that was cheaper than what would be considered market value of that breed and thought you had found a "bargain". You probably met the breeder half way so that you could save money by not having to drive to her location.
My guess is that your greed for the dollars you would save has resulted in you receiving a poor quality puppy. You get what you pay for, sir. In addition to your disapointment, you have fueled the puppy mill industry. Can I say it enough?!? "SHAME ON YOU, Concerned!)
