Wow, classy steuben county 911. I can see how this conversation went. "my child is locked in the car." "so what, not my problem."

Sounds about right!

The dispatcher was absolutely wrong...BUT I also woulda busted out a window to get to my kid instead of calling 911 over & over again and dealt with the 911 issue after.
Its funny how 911 dispatchers are always blamed (rightfully so here) but are NEVER acknowledged for getting the help started right away, keeping the caller calm until help arrives, or providing the life saving CPR instructions (The true First Responder), etc etc...dispatchers are rarely mentioned in thank you notes, letters, etc.
When you lock your keys in your car (no life in danger) don't get snotty with the dispatcher or demand they hurry up because you have to go to work...the dispatcher didn't lock your keys in your car...YOU DID. Take the responsibility!

I agree that the window should have been broken. If I couldn't have gotten help within a minute I would have broke the window. I have been in a hot car and it is no picnic.

yeah break the window with ur kid right near it smart? not that glass would of shattered all over that child! i understand your point but maybe a window not near the childs FACE would of been smarter thought, the dispatchers do get alot of credit when its due but not this time that child was in danger because of a irresponsible parent but the first good thought came to mind was in fact to call the police

its child abuse she locked her kid in a hot car? I dont care if it was a acident its abuse! fix the problem! the mom is dumb period. You have the right to help the distressed child! and braking the window as long as the child is in danger is justified!

WHAT!!! Seriously your an idiot. Do you work for C.P.S.? Were you the officer that was finally dispatched? Were you even there? The answer I can bet was no. You have no idea what happened that day, you dont know that the person your calling an abuser had stepped out of her door shut it and went directly to the back door to open and found it locked. Alot of cars these days have auto lock that locks as soon as all doors are shut.
so next time you decide to judge someone do a little better investigating before you start spewing diarrhea out of your pie hole. Oh and please learn to spell and proof read your comments before posting, its makes you more of an idiot!
