Problem with horse manure discussed in Gouverneur

Thanks for making the village look like Morons, Mayor!

So tell me how did the Mayor make YOU look like an idiot. Some of the residents of the village complained about a problem and the Mayor came up with a possible solution.

Gouverneur is not the first one to see Horse manure as a health problem. Other places that mandate this for example are, NYC, Albany, Syracuse, Buffulo, Rochester, Wash DC, Seattle, San Fran, Atlanta, Pittsburg, and many others. Even Watertown has brought it up because of citizen complaints.

Its really not an issue to install and they don't cost that much, around $100.00

none of those places claimed it was a health issue. they all are more congested than gouverneur and passed the law as a way of not having manure in the parking lots and streets. they did not add on all of the extras like not leaving horses unattended, electric lights, no manure on private land, that is how the mayor made gouverneur look like morons and how he showed it was an attempt to drive out the amish to please a few peoples bigotry. and btw i dont know about the others but in pittsburg the "diapers" can be emptied in the grass off of the pavement.

for the folks who havent found out ther is a peice called an apple bag made especilly for horses talk to a local omish they shoul know about them .

And for YOU, there is a thing called a SPELLING BOOK! Give it a shot something.

If we have to pick up after our dogs they should pick up after their horses. They live in this area so should follow laws like the rest of us instead of hiding behind their religion. No reason they can't buy a bag for the horse.

Really tired of having to scrub dried manure off the sides of my car because I can't miss the piles on my road. sometimes I can't even get out of my driveway why do I and my neighbors have to be inconvenienced like this. Just stop and shovel it to the shoulder or bag your horse!

I think the original point being made by the concerned citizen(s) in Gouverneur was that they didn't want horse poop on their property. Nothing was ever mentioned about cleaning it off the roads by the original citizen who expressed her concerns. Everyone kinda missed the point & the bottom line. If the Amish wanna park their horses somewhere, they should have to clean up after them !
