THIS IS EXACTLY WHY MISSOURI SHOULD PASS A LAW "YOU HAVE TO BE 18 YEARS OLD TO GET A DRIVER'S LICENSE". THESE YOUNG KIDS GET THEIR PARENTS TO SPEND ALL THERE MONEY ON A CAR, SO THEY CAN BE COOL LIKE THE REST OF THEIR FRIENDS AND THEY GET BEHIND THE WHEEL AND DRIVE LIKE A BAT OUT OF H*LL! I HAD SOME PUNK KID RIDING THE BACK OF MY CAR YESTERDAY ON HWY.70. IF I WOULD HAVE HIT MY BRAKES, HE WOULD HAVE REAR-ENDED ME. WHAT ARE THESE PARENTS THINKING? CHANGE THE LAW, PLEASE! SOME OF US REALLY DO LOVE OUR CHILDREN AND WOULD NOT DO SOMETHING SO ABSENT MINDED AS TO PUT OUR 16 YEAR OLD CHILDREN BEHIND THE WHEEL!

What will it take to put shoulders on the narrow highways throughout St Charles county to lessen the chance of these type of accidents from happening

I also believe that something needs to be done about the roads in rural st. charles county, but until this problem is corrected the best thing to do is be careful, and pay attention. The posted speed on DD is 55mph, and i believe that is to fast for these roads, especially for people that are not from the area. My suggestion is that if you are coming to visit this area and are not familiar with the roads, take the few extra minutes and drive slower or take hwy 94, it is much larger, and not as dangerous.

Do you know this young lady was driving "like a bat outta hell", I am hurting for both these families though i don't know them and feel your comment and generalization simply due to age is inappropriate and insensitive. Did you ask for ID from the driver tailgating you the other day, he very well may have been 18?

mr/mrs i have kids too.. you have absolutely no idea what the hell your talking about! yeah some people/ teens may not drive the way they should but that has nothing to do with elise and courtney. so stay out of it. this was a complete ACCIDENT!! obviously you've never heard of one of those.. but you are being completely inconsiderate of the family and freinds of these girls. you can not compare the bad drving of others to them.

The problem with DD is that there is no shoulder. It is a problem that needs to be addressed or there will be more unfortunate accidents.

okay obv. you dont know anything about courtney and elise. courtneys is in one of my classes and i was friends with elise. and the day i found out it was terrible. just because 2 girls get in an accident doesnt mean that you need to blame all of us 16 year olds for reckless driving. and in fact, the road that they were driving on was dangerous. and i know those girls personally and they would never drive dangerous. so i would just shut up!

This accident happened at the entrance to my development. It was a very sad day...for the driver, for their parents, for their school and communities, and for us in Ridgefield Farms. This was a tragic accident...key word being "accident". As a mother, I can't imagine one of mine not coming home again. I am so sorry...
