The death of a Smith County woman has been ruled an accident. Officials with the Smith County Sheriff's Department worked Tuesday and Wednesday to determine the details concerning the Tuesday night shooting incident.
I agree with bird dog. How can someone of Mr. Rhodes' supposed intelligence & experience in the armed forces make such a erroneous miscalculation that cost his wife's life? The fact that he had been home from work for some time, dinner made (fish as it so happens, an item that does not "hold" well), the table set, & the family's only vehicle in their driveway makes it appear that he knew full well that she was at their home. Mr Rhodes also doesn't appear to be concerned about the well-being of others in general if he fires a weapon at least 17 times without knowing where his own child & wife were at - or other by-standers that could have been in his line of fire that evening.
The inconsistencies of his explanation of events leave many unanswered questions & it appears to me that "the ol' boy network" may be alive & well. Whether a cover up or an out right falsehood, I hope the truth will come out & that justice will prevail!
