Suspect in shooting has violent past

An 18-year-old Wichita man charged with murdering a 19-year-old, allegedly because he didn't like the way the victim looked at him, had been on supervised release from a juvenile correctional facility when the shooting occurred, an official said Wednesday.

Brandon Hardyway, 'is somebody who has been involved with the system for a number of years,' said Mark Masterson, director of the Sedgwick County Department of Corrections.

By age 13, Hardyway was in serious trouble, convicted of using a handgun in a robbery. Now, Hardyway is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Robert Ridge. Police say Hardyway and Ridge were driving separate vehicles late Saturday and that at Murdock and Lorraine, Hardyway fired on Ridge because he didn't like the way Ridge looked at him. Read more

And where was the probation officer during all of this? Nowhere. She could have prevented this from happening by throwing him back in jail. She was very aware of everything and knew everything that was going on. She should be ashamed of herself....

B4 real friend. The system did exactly what it was suppose to do keep them out of jail. If the dumb S.O.B. is the one who should of turned his own life around. Every body is responsible for their own actions. ITS THE SYSTEM NOT THE PPL WHO WORK FOR THE SYSTEM.

Its so sad that no matter what you do or doing, you have to watch your back. Gang members or just getting out of control, the police need a better tatic, maybe go to half of the night clubs and the gang members they know, they should just start checking their cars for guns, over half the cars park at these night clubs haqve a gun in it.

Do you go outside your house and look around cause it sure dont sound like it.I can really tell your a John Q Public. Its 2008 and this is not a Charles Bronson movie Death Wish. Trust me things would be much better if it was like that. BUT IT'S NOT!!!!!

hi

It,s not crazy people you worry about ...it,s the one,s that don,t know it..R.c.
Crackheads gave hippies a bad name ......

it is ingrained in out culture now very sad i,m afraid to even tell most juveniles out there "where to go" . I know a 17 yr old here from the "right" side of the tracks that is doing a HARD 40 sentence for behaviour similar to this just sickening . it is that CHIP on their shoulder that many acrosss the board have .
