School officials face jail time for meal-time prayers

my only question in these matters is is why has prayerbecome such a throw-away...? saying a prayer has become like "have a good day." for so many xtians...its just a knee-jerk reaction now. a superstitious act like so many others, its lost its significance.

during my days as a believer I was always irked by how so many other xtians wanted a prayer tacked onto every freak'n thing/event/moment, etc...whereas I always felt prayer was a special ritual, a time to be spent in serious contemplation and devotion - not a lead-in for every stupid thing we do. I can recall getting into a disciplinary incident at my xtian highschool with the track coach who would have us prayer all the time. it was ridiculous.

I truly think prayer has been so debased from its original meaning by so many off the rails believers making more of a show than actual devotion.

Good. I don't want my kid's minds poisoned by some kiddie groping bible thumper. What used to be a "Look at me, I'm a good person" attention stunt has now, due to headlines and facts, turned into a "Don't leave me alone with your kids" warning flag. It's about time people realized what these deviant radicals are really up to. If it were up to me, I'd water board them and then burn them for being a witch.

im for seperation of church and state...but this seems a little extreme.
