All this could have been avoided.
This sounds like another Sally Reed and Alana Knaster fiasco, when former Monterey County Chief Administrator (1999 to 2005) Sally Reed paid herself $15,000 for quitting smoking while she fired employees that had been employed at the county longer than she had been and then there was the millions Sally Reed and her planner Alana Knaster wasted on the General Plan debacle and paid to professional PR speakers to interface with the Board of Supervisors so they would think that she knew what she was doing.
Can anyone tell me how these plaintiffs were affected or injured and which warranted a $5mm settlement?
And does anyone know the outcome of Sally Reeds lawsuit which forced the closure of one of the few homecare facilities in Carmel where her 92 yo mother passed away.
Monterey County taxpayers are still paying for Sally Reed’s mismanagement and the abuse of power from the departments heads that she hired back in 2000, like Scott Hennessy (resigned) and Brian Washko (resigned) and others that should resign, like Alana Knaster, Charles McKee and Irvin Grant.
Monterey County citizens need the Civil Grant Jury to investigate how this asbestos problem occurred under the nose of the Planning and Building Inspection departments’ and why they didn’t “red-tag” it like “Red-tag Ray” has done to so many hardworking property owners on the Peninsula. Red-tag Ray has such an eye for violations that all he has to do is drive by and at a glance, he’ll turn around and walk on your property and violate your civil rights and red-tag your site. Where was Red-tag Ray when the county needed him, oh, he was probably too busy making life hell for homeowners repairing a leak in his roof or bucking-up a tree that had fallen in a storm.
