The Coastside Fire Protection District could have a new chief within a month, district board President Douglas Mackintosh said Thursday, as the agency begins the process of severing its ties to Cal Fire.
This is the most ridiculous decision I have heard in a long time. CalFire has been doing an excellent job at a reasonable cost. How is the new/old department going to afford this new department and how will it be any different than the last? Are we going backwards? Do the firefighters really miss the days of discontent with administration or do they have a short memory? This is one of the dumbest decisions ever. Good luck! We'll be begging CalFire to take over again within five years. Fact.
