Hardly, moron. State employee payroll accounts for a whopping 1% of the budget. Maybe people like you on welfare better start looking to your left and right. Your welfare handouts may be going bye-bye!
I agree. Get rid of a lot of the social programs.
But the State Employee Unions are against that.
Why, who do you think administers those programs?
State Employees.
If you got rid of all welfare how many "Workers" would not have a job?
Same goes for housing, healthcare, childcare, etc.....

keep in mind these same state workers voted for this wacko, dearnold.
If you give state workers money- they jus spend it in CA,(this effect is now deemed bad)re: i want YOU to suffer like i do...stupid on stupid, when yr a right wing R anarchist, and proving our government is bad, well I'm not surprised, cut cut cut, the poor, the unemployed, the disabled, the seniors BUT never the rich nor the oil/land LORDS, etc...they are "bound" by their own anti tax nuts.
reactionaries lift huge boulders to drop on the people, only to drop it on their own feet.
meanwhile small biz owners are forced outofbiz, they too voted for these "punishment" sickos, the only thing going is to sell going out of biz signs like the old sln skit

I've dedicated 30 years of my life to my job. I have a college degree, and years of advanced IT training. This minimum wage rule would have caused chaos in the state - the 1970's era payroll system was written in COBOL, and yes, I know how to program in that language. I'd love to help the state fix it, but the Governor eliminated the $170 million to replace it.

Cut the elected officials, and cut the number of "managers", but please, don't take it out on we, the workers. I've only seen a one-time $50 bonus in the last 9 years.

The whole globe needs / is going to get a re-valuation. This mess isn't over by a long shot. I'd rather have 8.00 per hour than nothing at all. That's just me. Prepare yourselves ! The Governor does not control the price of anything. The fat cats in Europe and the USA do. See you in the streets. Arm yourselves.

I'm employed in the private sector in a job that will never be removed or eliminated.
And I perform at a level that my employer would remove those aroundme, before me.
I could make more, but have adjusted my lifestyle to what I make not what the next contract might give me and when those around me scream for more yet produce less they only make me all the more valuable.
I have also set aside my own earnings to provide should any such disaster occur.
I do not rely on the taxpayer to provide for me.
I take personal responsibility for my self and family.
Good for you...Now stop commenting on things that don't involve you....Oh, and stop taking drugs as only somone on drugs would make these types of remarks...While you're at it, pat yourself on the back, you've done good for a weekend dad....I guess you performed the husband/dad job at a level that your ex-wife would never remove you...hahahahahahaha

I am a California and U.S. Citizen; so this involves me.
That is the ignorant attitude you State employees have.
There are you and your brothers and there are the rest of us tax paying citizens who do not profit from our high tax dollars.

You beleive that you the State worker are the only one involved.
When your pay or pension goes up so does my taxes; so it does involve me. Just goes to show how ignorant State workers really are. Priatize everything. Go Gonveror Christie (sp)

See your brain doesn't function. I said from the start I wasn't a state worker and I never was..Why don't you read things before you open your pie-hole. Wow, no kidding, taxes go up when pay or pensions go up? Thanks for letting us know that, we had no idea...By the way, you chose your line of work, if you work, and they chose theirs. Some times it's good to be a state/county/city worker and some times it's not. If you or a family member was making $20.00 an hour would you think it was fair to cut their/your salary down to $7.75 an hour? I didn't think so. REMEMBER...I AM NOT A STATE WORKER AND NEVER WAS, I only see what is fair and what isn't..this wasn't.

I'm a 30 year state worker. I have a BA, a Master's, and a wall full of technical and advanced training certifications. But I'm paid 40%*LESS* then the private sector. Reason? When I was just starting out, I traded making more money, fast (private sector) for the security of a state retirement. I've only gotten one 2% pay raise in the last 10 years, yet my managers all average 14%. I ask you, is that fair?
But please, don't bash the work we do. I work equally as long and as hard in my job (IT) as you do in yours. When times were booming, you all thought nothing about doubling your salaries. Mine stayed flat. Now, when things are rough, you want to take your anger out on us. Again, I ask you, is that fair?

And no, I can't quit. Who would hire a White male over aged 50 today?

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Leo

This is one of those days when money slips through your fingers in no time at all unless you're very vigilant about your spending habits. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to stop yourself splashing out whenever the fancy takes you, whether or not you can afford it. You're especially drawn to tempting little treats and luxurious indulgences.
