Maybe so, but I think Sacramento has made it a little too easy for their inmates to kill themselves. It seems as if it's accidentally on purpose.

Hey, "why me?" My guess is that it is not "intentional" that would be murder. Or do you mean it was "intentional" on the part of Freddie Lee Pierce? If that is the case then you are right. Either way, why should the family get any money? Keep in mind it's our money. And it's not prison, it's jail.

why me, Return to school and learn how to write in English. Sheriff's officials cannot stop every suicide as guilt can be a very strong motivator. I'm sure molesting children might cause one to stop and contemplate life.

I know the family will bring a lawsuit but as a taxpayer in Sacramento County I hope morons like you don't make it on the jury. Your "lots and lots" of money is MY money I don't want wasted on child rapists.

Hey "why me"...paying to society??? Yah, right! This person committed an act on a child that the child will have to suffer with for the rest of his/her life...and just how can he pay society back for that by going to jail for a few months??? That child may be in therapy for years! That child may end up selling his/her body for sex, doing drugs, committing suicide, being a child molester later on, having serious relationship issues, etc...and this sicko pervert can pay society back for all this (forget about giving the child his/her due justice!) all in a few months??? Yes, it would have only been a few months! I had (can't be friends to a supporter of a child molester)a friend whose husband molested a minor under the age of 14, and he didn't even get a year! He gets to move back home with his two boys, didn't get any kind of mental health treatment ordered thus doesn't have to go to therapy for his sick mind, but the little girl he molested has been in therapy for over two years now! I honestly believe he did the world justice by removing himself from our society. I'm sorry for his family, as they have and are also suffering from his selfish actions, however, I do not believe they should benefit financially from his wrong-doing to society! Face it, if he hadn't done the crime, he wouldn't have been there in the first place and thus would not have jumped!

Are you kidding?????? Your comment is laughable! What were they supposed to do, shackle him up? Then what...a lawsuit because he was treated like a prisoner (which he was)? He jumped, no one pushed him!

I would like to keep the urban myth alive and continue to believe that he did not jump, that there is still a little honor among thieves, and that some right thinking convict found out what Freddie was in there for, and PUSHED HIM!!!!!!! It's entirely possible, let's give the boys at 651 I Street a little credit. They saved we taxpayers quite a chunk of change.

Before you ever speak again, get the facts. You have not a clue what you're talking about. The inmate CHOSE to end his life. It's his fault for being in jail in the first place.

He was killed, just like in the good 'ol days when chesters were not safe in jail.
It may not stop others but it will help police when they catch them. I can see it now.......
Cops: "You're going to jail unless you give me something I can use, and you know what happens to your kind in jail!"
Pervert:"Ok, ok, please don't take me to jail, I'll tell you anything you want to know. I know where there's an underground kiddie porn ring...."

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Virgo

You're feeling restless and need to introduce as much variety into your day as possible. However, you'll want this to be on your own terms, and you certainly won't like it if plans are changed without your consent or you feel you've lost control of the situation. Try to take everything in your stride, otherwise you'll end up feeling exhausted and frazzled.
