100 low income families can get swimming pool passes.

That's what I wanted to hear. 100 "low income" familes recieve something else for free. While they enjoy our "public" pool dreaming of how they are going to waste their next welfare check the rest of us must work to pay our taxes so they can get everything for free.

Not everyone on welfare waste their checks. Get you're head out of you're ass.

Wow how nice. Give people another thing to do besides go to work. While you people with the free passes are setting there having fun at the pool I'm at work earning money so my kids can enjoy the blow up pool in the back yard. Great idea people. Way to reward people for their laziness.

More reason for anyone with money to boycott the city pool, who wants to swim with filthy animals anyways.

I was born with club foot and I applied for the free pass bc I make 694 dollars a month and my rent is 500 so u people that have so much to say should reconsider your thoughts on this topic. I cant change the way I was born and yes I have children. If I can get a free pass to do something enjoyable with them, then why is that a bad thing?

What about the people that don't deserve it? Yes, I can see a person with a disability getting it i have no problem with that what so ever. But I am willing to bet that the majority of the passes will go to the lazy asses that want everything for free and don't want to work for it. But hey what the hell am I bitching about? Maybe a dip in the pool will clean up some of these dirty people. Please add a little extra chemicals. It's gonna need it.

No, I do work. I use my pay check from work to pay for my child to swim. I have a little extra time to get on Topix because I paid for my pool so it's at my house. The ones that are not on here is the ones at the pool with the free passes. If you are assuming I'm one of the ones getting the check at the beginning of the month it's only fair that I assue you do because you have a lot of time to monitor topix to see who's on here all the time. By the way you can have access to the Internet by mobile devices. You can be almost anywhere now a days and still be connected!

I’m wondering what is considered “low income”? The report only states must meet Federal Poverty Guidelines, but does not specify what percent. I too may qualify… Marco Polo!

I hope in the days to come something happens to all you haters that cause you to have to be on some kind of assistance then everyone can hate on you and look at you with discust. Life isn't always just dandy for all. Karma is a bit##. You have still a lifetime ahead of you and don't know what can happen in the future. You know what I had club foot when I was born to in both of my feet and I still work I don't get a check every month and my job you don't sit down and do and my feet still are 100% stright like everyone else but I still work everyday I don't use that I had club foot when i was born to get a check man maybe I should so I can get a check every month so I can sit around on my ass and do nothing. It's ppl like you that make all of us hard working ppl mad b/c you think you can't work b/c you have club foot well get over it and get off your ass and work.

It is sad to see so much animosity from you people. I can see being aggravated at the people who cheat and abuse the system, but they are doing this for the children. It is not their fault their parents don't work or meet societies standards. I am sure there are people who do work, that will be eligible. Some people just don't make enough money to provide for their families and afford to take their children to do things like this. I think it is a great idea! I would much rather see these kids playing at the pool rather than running the street with no supervision what so ever.

I'm jealous. I work hard every single day and can never catch a break. I wonder if people still use the pool as their daycare service?
