Do you think Marijuana should be Legalized?

Thats right Legalize marijuana, and they should compare their death rate, and you got the don't believe government propaganda too. Years ago pot was used to help catatonic people to speak again. It was also found in the tomb of a 12 year old king who lived and died 500 years before Christ was even born. They Government doesn't want it legal so that all the people could use it at once, cause that would bring on total peace. With true total peace, would we need the government? police? town leaders? no, and then they would be out of jobs.

I personally have smoked "pot" since 1972, continually! I have had times when it was of little interest to me and others when I felt justified in "spreading the word" about the fallacies attributed to "pot smokers". I own a contracting business, I have raised good moral children, I am active in my community, I have NEVER used harder (destructive)illegal drugs. I have watched as friends and family have fallen into bad habits i.e. destructive drugs and single minded religiosity....but that does not justify the stereotyping of any one group. Just be true to yourself and let the chips fall where they may.

Fuel for vehicles could be made from the hemp plant for a fraction of the cost of drilling for oil. Hemp will grow in virtually the roughest terrain. Legalizing hemp would help considerably with the greenhouse effect. Thank DuPont for making it illegal so they could promote their teflon products.

You know, that would be great, fuel, yeah. It's used for twine, rope, even make'n handbags, and clothing. Maybe the government should consider all the uses?

I haven't touched the stuff in about 12 years. I made the choice not to smoke it. I believe it should be my choice. I think it should be legal and I will continue to choose not to use it.

You are sooooo right By-stander... It's one's choice! It should be legal, and left up to the person who chooses to use it!

My dad dies because of second hand smoke! He never did it, cigs or pot. But, before he died, he was in sooo much pain that he asked me to get some for him. Unfornately, he died before I could.

I live in severe pain. I'm disabled because of my chronic severe pain. I'm allergic to all pain medicines! So, what am I too do? Suffer? well, that is what the state of Indiana is make'n me do. That's why I'm try'n to sell out and move out of the very state I was born into and a citizen of all my life; just so I can move to a state that finally cares about people who suffer and have only pot to depend on. It doesn't take away pain, it just helps me relax so I can live with the pain.

To use pot would be my choice.

im just finishing up my sentence for that....it hella should be legal and with no age limita
also who cares if its illegal cause the people who get caught are stupid.....its actually pretty hard to get caught with it since there are so many spots to do it in that are free of cops(dicks)

A few studies have managed to show that cannabis impairment can be equated to a 0.05% blood alcohol level. Certainly cannabis will change your perception of events while you are behind the wheel. Whether or not that change in perception is significant or even a detrimental change is much more fodder for debate.

While I do not believe a responsible user of cannabis would get behind the wheel, I would worry far more about some one who has had a single alcoholic beverage than I would some one who has smoked his or her weight in weed.

While some studies have managed to show a slight level of impairment, many others have shown little or no impairment at all. I'm not going to bother citing all of these studies now but if you use google as your friend, i would look for the French traffic safety study in particular as a starting point.

I must confess to knowing a little bit about nascar but this is mainly because of a dear friend of mine that passed away due to a drunk driver. Drunk drivers I worry about constantly.

Then DON'T. This isn't a discussion on whether people should be forced to use mj or not. It is a discussion on whether responsible adults should be allowed to CHOOSE whether they want to use it or not without fear of having their front door kicked in by Gestapo-like police teams.

That being said, ingesting marijuana is not fatal so the comment from porfirio is somewhat useless.
