Hemet: Officers on administrative leave after shooting parolee during foot pursuit

The dead guy was a known problem, identified by HPD as the car-jacking suspect in an earlier San Jacinto event. He ran for a while, turned and pointed his gun at one officer. That officer shot him. He turned, pointed his gun at the second officer, and the second officer shot the dirtbag again. Suspect (dirtbag) died in the hospital a few hours later.

Honestly, it's a shame someone had to die in this situation, but the good guys went home safely. I am sure they will have a lot of internal struggles to deal with. Taking a life is NOT what every officer has in mind when they start their shift. Those cops out there are the GOOD GUYS, doing the best they can to keep law-abiding citizens safe from harm.

I really hope you all understand that.

And NO, I am not a police officer, but I have family members who are. I am VERY grateful for their service in a thankless, difficult, dangerous, sometimes deadly job that pays just a little more than I bring home.

The next time you think that a cop makes too much money, has too good of a retirement, ask yourself if you could REALLY do their day-to-day job. Be honest. Really. And if you feel that you are qualified to wear a badge, GO FOR IT!

I HIGHLY doubt that ANY of the anti-cop folks out there would qualify for a law enforcement career.

The anti cop folks out there are ignorant, lazy, losers, sitting around collecting either SSI or welfare. My only hope is that we get an administration in place soon that is able to cut the programs that support these parasites. Our state and country are being bled dry by the millions of people that are living off the working peoples taxes. The guy that was shot was one of this group. At least my tax dollars won't be used to pay for his public defender and incarcerate him. Thank God none of the officers were hurt.
