I have to agree, why were they out cruising at 5:15 AM? My sympathy is with the family and also the driver, he has to feel horrible.

" nobody knows what these kids were doing and it really doesn't matter...what matters is there is a family with a loved one that will never return to them ...and a friend that tried to save her...tough... think what you like...ever think maybe these kids were going to do something positive....maybe you should of listened to your parents...you remember "IF YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY---THEN YOU SHOULDN'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL" To the family and friends ...sorry for your loss

Clarification since I don't know if they were cruising or what they were doing out driving at 5:15 AM. So "sick of dumb people" Is that better? What were they doing out at 5:15 AM? It does matter because it could have been prevented. I feel sorry for the driver, the friend that tried to rescue her and the families involved, they will all feel the pain.

My condolences to the family of this young woman. What a horrific tragedy to lose a child/loved one. I couldnt imagine the pain you must be feeling. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

parents need to be involved in their childrens lifes, these kids were not out doing something good, they were screwing off on private property not paying attention. it is sad. because it was preventable. the driver should be charged.

Actually, they were on the drivers parents property when the accident occurred. And they were at a cabin on the same property the night of the accident getting it opened up for a birthday party saturday night. The birthday party was going to be for the driver. They were not driving fast, they just slid down a 12' embankment off the private drive into the cannon river. As they went down the embankment the car rolled over into the river. The driver was pulled out by his friend, and then Brittany was pulled out to the river bank. However, somehow they could not hold on to her because of the current and she was swept away. I can't speculate and say they were drinking or not. But either way it is a very hard, tragic, and sad event for two families. Let's not be to judgemental.
