Well, I guess we are all entitled to do as we feel necessary. However, I do not think that there is anything that Mr.Robinson can say about Mr.Leftwich to save him. No matter how high he sings Mr.Leftwich's praises, that fact remains that he murdered someone. Granted I was not there and can only go on what I have heard about that night, but what I have heard says that Mr.Leftwich was a long way from being in imminent danger.

You guys make this cop out a martyr? This is insane! In a world we live in not all cops are good, just in case you missed it. You guys are why they think they are above all LAW. The more and more I see things like this the more I am reminded we are becoming a police state, unless there is witnesses they take care of there own. I guess the way you see it is he should have shot the guy in his home. Yeah, that makes more sense. Signed, Concerned.

I must elaborate more on this I don't want no one to think I'm glad this happened. Just things come to mind like "back up" taking my girl friend to a hostile environment undercover such as white guy's in black neighborhood, not being armed, no communication with police forces, girlfriend stating he flashes badge these drug dealers are not selling cookies and guns and death is part of the life style. This does not look good. Have no doubt about it the guy's involved in the killing were some bad asses and you don't go there unpaired. Think of it in reverse. I have seen enough death in war to know its shoot first because the last shooter is dead and its a sad for everyone.

Beckley is slap full of crooked cops. This one got what he deserved. I remember Sweeney and Dobbins pulling crooked shit back in the day. It's a wonder they never got served some justice. In the grand scheme of things we're down one crooked cop, one coke dealing murderer and a sorry sack of crap go between. Seems like society won. The go between should have gotten 15 years instead of life, but hey, the good old boys in Beckley protect their own and if you mess with them you face the penalty.

I will give you that there are police officers who aren't always on the up and up but you are way out of line saying the officer got what he deserved. Nobody deserves to be gunned down like some animal. The shooter didnt have a gun waving in his face under the threat of death when he fired his weapon and murdered officer Smith. Society didnt win a thing here. There are never winners when something like this happens. Families have been destroyed on all sides of this. People in the community feel like we are in a losing battle with drugs. We also feel like we are in a losing battle with stupidity and ignorance, the example being the comments you have made.

You ARE in a losing battle against drugs. Because it's a battle that can't ever be won by law enforcement. No matter how many "druggies" you people lock up nothing will change. Laws and law enforcement is NOT the answer. It's a big part of the problem.
Drug use is a medical and mental problem. Not a legal one. Least it shouldn't be. You have too many tweakers? The problem isn't lax cops. The problem is the situation where the tweakers live gives them no hope for anything better.
You want to solve the drug "problem"? Take every dime the police use for enforcing drug laws and use it to make good paying jobs for people. Give them a future and they won't be so inclined to steal. I stole when I lived in Beckley because I couldn't find honest work. I found honest work here and haven't stolen anything in over 20 years. It's a job problem. Not a drug problem.
Give a man a job paying $20 an hour with some benefits and he will clean himself up real quick. Arrest him for drugs and you've created a burden on the state that will haunt us all.
But you backwards folk want to keep arresting people and getting people killed. And you say I am stupid?

Tyler TX, I'm not entirety sure you know what you talking about or I don't understand completely what your saying. I grew up there in most of these counties where all this bad is going on, I left there at 18 never went back to live there again for the same reasons that are going on now, you think this is something new? Its just the same problems different drugs and still no jobs and it just seems the only thing that changes is the drugs. Any drug one gets on is hard to kick for most people it take many times to the cleaners. I am now 40 years old and I have lived in places that are booming, much to be made and a life to live. I have been back home to visit 20+ years later and it still looks about the same. Nothing major, "nothing" 20 years and it still looks as it did when I was a kid maybe even worst. Most of those folks in them mountain get checks there so poor and born into poverty, to the only life they will ever know and the drugs are just another form of entertainment and escape. Big pharmaceuticals are pulling in the dough while they destroy our country, you can't fill our prisons with poor people but you sure can fill them with the doctors and dealers. All this stuff going on should be year round not just election season.

I cant help but laugh at the foolishness you typed. Last time I checked, the police were out everyday puting their lives on the line to protect the citizens and even the trash low lives who occasionally do not deserve the protection. The police are not out there "trying to kill people". Personally I think that people like you need to go on a ride along with officers for a few weeks on midnight shift being it is so busy. You could see all of the trash and awful stuff that they have to deal with on a daily basis. It is very easy for us to sit behind a screen name and talk trash but when it comes time to man up, most people fall short. Thank you to all our law enforcement and first responders for putting yourselves in harms way to protect us and serve us.

Ok Let's get some things straight, I grew up with a family member extremly close to me as he was a narcotics cop. Let me tell you when they are undercover there just like a doctor, emt, nurse what ever there job is never done. Unless they are 3000 miles away that might have to work. no matter the circumstances. Just cause chucks girlfriend was in the car. that could have been any of us. You cant leave your family at a restraunt theres times they have no other choose but to be with them.
Those of you who sat outside your cars cussing and screaming and saying all this for just a cop. think about who you would call if you were standing infront of that gun., Think about who you would call if someone broke into your house or if you were robbed or getting beat to death your first reaction is 911. so please dont threaten these officers dont make there job any harder than it already is they are only human and can only do so much. If you have had an incounter with a police officer and you werent the victim you were the suspect than you messed up dont be mad because they caught you. there making a living just like the rest of us to support there family.
which if it was any of your alls business. which it is not. Chuckie and his wife were seperated. He never neglected that baby as a matter of fact he was suppose to pick her up early that moring and taylor is never ever going to think that her daddy was a dirty cop. she has to many people to prove that he was a great a great father. So drop it its over they killed him and there rotting in jail were they belong if your not careful youll be there to... with your attitude's towards those police officers.

WOW you mean cops can be plain clothes, making drug buys @ 4 in the morning after barhopping , and only be .1 % from being legally incapacitated, but its the dealers fault it got violent. and our tax dollars pay for an undercovers crack habit? i say piss test every cop, oh wait thats right , cops are now immune to the laws they enforce look it up, do your homework
