After seeing the candidates at the Bostwick forum, I will definitely vote for Amien Joseph. Each candidate had one minute to answer their respective question. Mr. Joseph responded to his questions with no difficulty and with good answers. His opponent did not. She went completely blank at one point. We need people on the School Board that can think on their feet and respond accordingly. Vote Amien Joseph on August 26.

Lisa Parsons taught my son and continued to follow his progress through to this his senior year. She is an outstanding person and has tried to do a good job as a school board member. It is difficult to change things with only one vote/person. I believe if Mr. Buckles were to be removed from office an improvement would be seen rather quickly. He is stale and not open to new ideas...he is well past his time..

No one has denied that her heart has always been in the right place. She is only one person and one person can not CONTROL the board – neither can the Superintendent of Schools. I believe if Mr. Buckles were to be removed from office a disaster would be seen instantaneously. Mr. Townsend could not work along side with the board members we have in place presently – he can not agree with any of the candidates running for school board now. Talk about debacle. Mr. Buckles is an outstanding, seasoned veteran administrator - he is open to new ideas and has enormous contributions in place for his students and employees in the future. Mr. Townsend has no idea how to make things happen because he does not know the drill. A leader who lacks ability will produce pandemonium in our schools.

At most of the forums Lisa Parsons says that she teaches Virtual School and it is a 24/7 job. She home schools her children and that certainly is no easy task and takes considerable time. She also says that she is very active in her church which takes much of her time. She is a mother and a wife which takes much of her time. Pray tell, when does she find the time to be an effective menber of the School Board. Lisa is a nice lady and deserves respect for all she does, but we need someone on the School Board who has the time, energy and willingness to devote the time necessary to fulfill the duties of a School Board member. Amien Joseph is that person and he has my vote.

When you home school your kids you have your hands full...can't teach full time too and have another job on the side. Something suffers. She's not a very effective member...nice lady...has my respect...doesn't have time for the school board.

FYI I have worked alongside Mr. Joseph in some of our 'roughest' elementary schools. He does not just pick the schools that he can have an easy day at. He goes to the schools where hate crimes and violence exist constantly. He not only works in these schools, but he also strives to improve them. Never have I seen Mr. Joseph act unprofessionally. He is up to any challenge. LET ME ALSO SAY I HAVE TAUGHT IN SEVERAL SCHOOLS AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN A SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER, INCLUDING TOM TOWNSEND, VOLUNTEERING OR VISITING THE SCHOOOLS. In fact, Mr. Joseph spends more time in one week in the classroom than does his opponent LP. Mr. Joseph has a high regard for family and leads a Christian life. HE HAS MY VOTE.

Townsend likes to talk the talk and keeps talkin' and can't walk the walk. Vote Buckles, and Vote Joseph .... build a winning board. Stinson and Wright are both good candidates - no problem there - either will be a welcome addition!

This election will provide the PCSB with members who truly want to bring public service in public education. TT and LP both have personal agendas, have been unproductive self-serving, and ineffective.

The early voting will begin this Monday August 11. If you are still undecided as to who should receive your vote for District three School Board visit the web site of Amien Joseph. You will find he is well qualified and extremely interested in the students welfare. I personally have called and talked with him and find him receptive to ideas from the people. He will be an asset to the School Board as well as to the County. VOTE AMIEN G. JOSEPH, SR.

We need someone that can devote time and effort to this position...not someone so overwhelmed by responsibility of home schooling her kids and teaching (in her words a job that requires 24/7) full time. Again...we need someone who respects the school system enough to have their kids there too. The money is good enough for her...not the schools. We need someone to help unify the board and elimate those with their own agenda. We need AMIEN JOSEPH - vote Aug. 26.

I read a blog on the Superintendents race that LP did not get School Board certified during her first term as a Board member. Is this a fact? It seems to me that one would want to be certified to do the job that one was elected for. Perhaps there just wasn't enough time after home schooling, teaching Virtual School, church activities as well as being a wife and mother to her family. Not being certified in four years does not say much for her interest in doing what is best for the PCSD and the children. Vote Amien G.Joseph, Sr.

The forum held by the San Mateo Women's Club was very interesting. LP spent most of her time on the defensive about her tenure as a school board member. She stated that she had great difficulty in convincing fellow board members to share her point of view on many issues. Amien Joseph, however, presented him self as a progressive and forward thinking individual. He was positive on the questions asked and gave some insightful answers to the questions. He certainly won my vote.

LP has spent her 4 years out on a limb of her own...and sometimes looking at TT out on his own limb. Hope the board can settle down and work as a whole team again with two new board members. That's why becoming a certified board member and certified board is important...you learn to work together and disagree with respect...something neither thought important..."just a piece of paper."
